Default [Release] Dr.POP - POPStation GUI in drag and drop style!

็Hi everyone!

Mostly i'm the QJ reader (in read-only mode) and this will be the second attempt to release something to the community

I know that we already have tons of GUI for pop station, but i still want something that is easier and more friendly. So I have created one, that will only require you to just know how to drag and drop files! - Dr.POP (Draggin' POP)

Download:
http://maxupload.com/6A143196
(Contains all required files, ready to run)

Quick Fix:
Use this exe (replace the one inside the archive you have downloaded) instead. I have made a really silly bug that sometimes deletes images before popstation start creating exe. this will fix it:
http://maxupload.com/42554714

How to use:
  • Open Dr.POP
  • Drag the PSX image in ISO/CUE/BIN/CCD/IMG format into the Dr.POP window
  • Or, insert PSX CD into the drive and open my computer - then 'drag' the drive into the Dr.POP window
  • Drag any image file you wish to use (in PNG, JPG or GIF format) on to the DrPOP window to use it as icon, background or overlay image in EBOOT.
  • Or, search Google Image for boxshot or screenshot you like then right click and copy it ("Copy" in IE, "Copy Image" in Firefox). Hold the right mouse button on the Dr.POP window to choose where you want to place the image. Releasing Right button will "Paste" it on to the screen.
  • Click Image Button to choose whether you want the images to be centered or scaled.
  • Plug the PSP in, open the PSP\GAME folder. Create new folder with the name you like (eg: SilentHill) and drag that folder (in this case, icon with the name SilentHill) into Dr.POP Window. (of course, another drive or folder will work - not only those on the Memory stick)
  • Click "Go", choose compression level and wait!

Known Issue:
  • Not so accurate Disc ID Reading from ISO.
  • You might see an error message while quitting.
  • Closing Dr.POP did not stop EBOOT Creation.
  • No error message shown...

Requires:
http://ryanvm.doitrightconsulting.net/files/dotnet2.exe - dotNET 2.0
http://www.frogaspi.org/ - ASPI Layer (Vista did not ship with one available)

Use:
- PopStation.exe to create EBOOT - Credits goes to Dark_Alex
- CDRDAO to read image in RAW mode

If you can't get it to work, try running popstation.exe and cdrao\cdrdao.exe manually and see if it running fine.
popstation.exe might give you an error about cygwin, move cygwin1.dll and cygz.dll to c:\windows\system32 and see it it helps.

cdrdao.exe will not work without ASPI, go into support folder and double click aspi.reg and see if that helps. If not, just download frogaspi and place winaspi32.dll to c:\windows\system32 and try running cdrdao.exe again.

If those things works, there is no reason that Dr.POP won't create EBOOT or rip the cd for you.

Enjoy!
Feedbacks are welcome.

try running popstation.exe inside support folder and see if it works. if you got an error regarding cygwin thing, move cygwin1.dll and cygz.dll to your c:\windows\system32 folder and see if that helps.

the same for cdrao\cdrdao.exe, it requires ASPI layer which is not available in Vista. Download from: http://www.frogaspi.org/

Dr.POP will just swallow the error messages :P there is no error detection in place yet...

Try running popstation.exe and cdrdao.exe manually and see if it works. as i have mentioned, popstation requires cygwin and cdrdao requires aspi layer.

If that didn't help - Can you use this
http://maxupload.com/C9F76AA3
it's a special build that will show you the hidden popstation, cdrdao window and they should have a chance to give you an error message.

Hi
When I try to do original game I drag and drop it and add destination folder then when I hit go button nothing happens. However when I convert one into an iso (using magic iso) the conversion works but when I try the game I get a black screen. (tried brian lara and sheep dognwolf)

Any help please

did you try running support\cdrao\cdrdao.exe manually ? if it doesn't work then you have to install ASPI layer.
I can't tell you anything about conversion as i just passing values to popstation.exe...

You get a black screen because magic iso wont work for psx isos, the same thing happened to me when i tryed to make an iso with magiciso, use clonecd.

Hello NANT15,

first i would like to thank you for your nice GUI !!!

2nd if its OK with you i would like to add some comment and questions:

1. the drag and drop feature is brilliant !
2. what input formats are allowed (ISO,IMG,BIN,CUE.....)?
3. would it be possible to implement a docmaker gui as well ?
4. Why does your compression has 3 levels compared to others with 9 ?wheres the diffrence ?
5.would it be possible to also drag and drop sound files (for background music)? and if yes what formats would be accepted ?
6. and last ? the PAL to NTSC (horizontal fix) ?

sorry to bombard you with all that questions, but
i think your GUI could be the best and easiest to use if it would be developed a little bit more.

i only can congratulate you for your nice work
