As the title says, I need a list of the ASCII characters that are present in the PSP.
If the character cannot be displayed, have a word that tells what it is. (e.g. '\n' displays no character, but it has the word 'newline' to describe it. Same thing with '\t' being 'tab'.) This can help me out a lot. Also, have the list formatted as such: Code:
001: <ASCII Char or description> 002: <ASCII Char or description> 003: <ASCII Char or description> 004: <ASCII Char or description> etc.

All are supported.
The first result in Google gave me the table you need. http://www.asciitable.com/ Your post comes over as very demanding (verging on arrogant), no offence.

Em, there are no 'characters' on the PSP, I dont think. The printTextToScreen function in graphics.c has a predefined characterset.
If you are asking about that, it has the alphabet, punctuation marks, and a few symbols. The remaining 2/3 looks like...braille.

The debug screen allows use of the ASCII symbols.
Wouldn't it be quicker to just cycle through thtem on screen than stuff around like this? psudeo code: int ascii; for ascii = 0 - 254 { screenposition bla bla; debugscreenprint "Character:%c Value:%d:",ASCII,ASCII; delay here; } |

yea...
It's kinda for a lua project... It's also sorta wierd to do it. In order to print out the ASCII in lua you would have to use the escape character '\ddd' where 'ddd' is the ASCII number. Trying to do that in a loop is kind of confusing. The main reason i really wanted an ASCII list of the characters in the psp was if i could find some characters that are psp specific or something. I was sorta hoping to find an ASCII character that had the triangle, square, circle, cross buttons in ASCII form.

That wouldn't be ASCII.
You're confusing ASCII and fonts. There are no PSP symbols defined in ASCII, period. That doesn't mean the PSP doesn't have a built-in font that contains the symbols but it's not going to be in the debug font. Your best bet is to find a TrueType font online that includes the symbols and use that in your Lua code. |
