First question...
Who do I need to contact to gain access to posting threads in the PSP developer forum? As for the topic, since I can't ask in the developer forum....Is there a specific hardware device ID (HID) for the PSP when it is connected to the PC? Does it differ among versions of the PSP? Best way to detect if a PSP is connected via USB on a windows PC besides doing logical checks on the folder structure? Thanks.

At the risk of being on-topic for a moment...
There are 4 possible HIDs for the PSP's USB hardware, only one of them is normally used (although I believe psplink lets you choose alternate IDs). Some TA-082+ PSPs that were downgraded with an early downgrader may also use a different ID. Some search on forums.ps2dev.org should turn up relevant threads with info about the 2 items above. In practice, I've found that detecting the PSP-specific folder structure on the filesystem (e.g. /psp/game, /psp/photo) is sufficient, and a lot easier. Write access to the Developer Dungeon is reserved for those who have proven reasonable development skills via a released application, and is assigned at the discretion of the forum admins. If you've released something that you think demonstrates a better contribution to the scene than a standard copy of a tutorial "Hello World", you can try sending a PM to FrozenIpaq.

Does it need to be specifically on the PSP? I have written and I am continuing to update this: http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=82391 . I'm not trying to force my way into the forum, I just figured that the developer forum was the proper play to ask such a thing.
Thanks.
