I would like to say this is not a request thread just a idea thread for a possible homebrew game. I think there should be at least one thread here which would be dedicated to giving ideas to developers for possible homebrew games. I for one am tired of all of the Mario clones and the community needs more original games like Squarez, Attack of the Mutants, and SnakeSP so the PSP homebrew scene will continue. I am sure there are a lot of people out there that have great ideas for a game which cannot be pursued due to little to no programming knowledge.
My idea came from a game I used to play back in 7th grade when we had some Apple II computers in one of the classrooms with a bunch of games. The one game which I remember the most is a strategy/puzzle type game which I have since forgot the name of. Below is a image of what I remember and its probably off a bit. ![]() The objective was to avoid the computers line while you must trace the entire grid. There would be a short trail behind you and the computer and if you were hit by or if you hit the computer you would loose a life. When you lost a life you would continue back at the start position and finish tracing all of the lines on the grid. I cannot remember for sure but I believe there were multiple grid layouts for this game even if there weren't it would increase replay value as more grids could be made for it. One thing I do know is after completing each level the speed of you and the computer would increase making it more difficult to complete without loosing a life. Points would be scored based on how many pixels you have traced over and a bonus for not loosing a life during a round. I do not remember how many points it was to gain another life. Thats my project idea so what kind of ideas do other people here have for possible games that would fit the PSP?

Sounds like a variatio of a Tron clone. As for a request thread, I would also like a thread filled with requests, as Im stumped on what to make, so Im constantly switching gears...

Obviously a Tron speedbike 2D make-over
Also, I wouldn't call Snake original, but I agree. Unfortunately I'm uncreative when coming up with anything other than algorithms (ie game ideas) :/

To me its more of a Pac-Man/Tron Light Cycles/Tetris.
Its like Pac-Man because you must trace the entire grid before going to the next level and you have a enemy you must stay away from. Its like Tron Light Cycles because you are moving along a grid and have a trail behind you. The only big difference is you are limited to moving on the lines only and not the entire field. And the trails never are fixed and do not grow. Its only like Tetris because the speed of you and the enemy increases after completing a level like Tetris increases in speed after each level. I played the game back in 1997 on a Apple 2 so the game was limited. I could see alot of possibilities for game mods and alterations to increase reply value. Multiple Enemies for one. Power Ups like Slow Enemy, Speed Up, Invincibility for short periods of time. I just wish I could remember the name of the game so I could play it on a Apple II emulator. I am not even 100% sure if it was a Apple II but I think it was because it looked just like one. Its possible it was a very very old Windows 1.0 system because I had a copy of the game on floppy to run on Windows 95 but my 25 MHz processor was way to fast for the game.
