Press R while booting the psp
on the menu come down to advanced and press x
plug the usb to ur pc and psp
go to tobble usb (flash 0)
go to the drive
go to vsh
then resource
and put the rco in thr
replace it :)
Paint Shop Pro works just fine, you have to cut more off of the tga after you edit. You have to remove 1041 bytes to get it to the correct 17172 bytes.Zitat:

There....the RCO it produced wasnt the compatable file size thats all....
I edited the RCO so it would work fine, though I cannaot give you the TGA file you used in a compatable form that wouldnt require later hexing of the RCO produced
Oh and do me a favor? post a pic of the RCO wave in action? im way too lazy to test it myself, and i gtg right about nto anyway

So how do I know what size the .rco should be? Before TgaWave was released all the .rco's needed to be 41,844 bytes, so now how is that done?

If the resulting .rco is larger than ~41844, the tga needs some more editing. If it is smaller than ~41844, then you need to add padding to the end of the .rco via hex editor.Zitat:

The reason I used the "~" symbol is because there are a few different sizes that will work. The 2 most common seem to be 41840 and 41844 bytes.

Alright, i got the GIMP photo thingy. i opened up the tga. now what? I tried drawing on it and it came out ind of cool but wouldnt animate. i would read all the posts but with dial-up i dont have enought time tonight(in a lifetime?) what EXACTLY do i need to do? all help appreciated

ok, im pretty curious
before i though(wrong) that it worked by taking an image that was 128x128 and then from rectangular to polar (filter->distort->polar coordinates) but..i obviously thought wrong
does ne one kno how to convert a pic to that format?

Instructions for use
------------------------------
!!!!NO MORE HEX EDITING REQUIRED!!!!
1. Read the tutorial by Al-Zamli from QJ.NET forums (2 mirrors), you can read it at: http://pspjunk.org/tgawavetut/index.html OR http://vbmaster.portablesofdoom.org/tgawavetut/index.html
2. Open your TGA in Photoshop/GIMP/etc. Edit to your satisfation (but make sure you read the tutorial first!)
3. Save it exactly how the tutorial says (Indexed Color, Local (selective), 32 (or less) colors, Black and White with Transparency, and Diffusion.) You can now save the TGA as any name you wish.
4. Run start.bat. It will guide you through the rco creation process. Specify the TGA you would like to inject and relax as it does the rest (no more hex editing required)
5. Put system_plugin_bg.rco that was created in /vsh/resource/
6. Done!

I was just wondering if you could also include padding of the targa file.
Since I found out that the output RCO file does not work if the targa file is less than 17,172 bytes.
hehe, I did play with it by deleting some more bytes so that its less than 17,172 bytes.
I don't really know if there is a targa file that is less than 17,172 bytes since all my custom made targa files are greater than 17,172 bytes.
UPDATE: If I delete about 100 bytes in TGA file, the RCO just stays (I mean the wave does not move!).
