I got a different building error when running the toolchain shell script
http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/9070/errorgcc7dg.gif
Any idea on where to correct it?
I hope I don't have to run the shell script all over again...
You will probobly have to run the toolchain again. Its says it runs fastjar.exe nut its missing library files. DId you download ALL the files that came with the toolchain?
I think the connection choked when downloading one of the tar.gz files through the script. My internet connection was acting intermittent at the time. I'll try downloading those files again.
I use free download manager, it eliminates choke of downloads and is very quick and simple. I used it for CYGWIN to make sure nothing went wrong. If you are having problems with choke try googling it
i got this error during installation Error Building NewLib
i got toolchain from here ps2dev.org/psp/Tools psptoolchain-20050801.tgz
can someone help me?
Hmm, loooks to me like either you somehow managed to change ONE space in the source of one of the toolchain files. THere is a syntax error before the end token in a bit of code. Try reloading the updated toolchain, i know there is one from September
im kinda lost can you go to pm?Zitat:

why do i get this error?
and what can i do to fix it?Code:no rule to make target main.o, needed by hello.elf
What's your Makefile named (do a "ls" in the directory), and what does your Makefile look like (copy and paste it)
Hi guys, can any of you please explain this error. Picture And i have SURLEY installed the RIGHT packages. It drives me nuts, i have been at if for manny hours, it's all ready 3:11 Am. Fhk..
Okay, you downloaded the toolchain right...well what you REALLY have to do is save it to your desktop and rename it from psptoolchain082505.TAR to psptoolchain082505.RAR and then extract ALL the files into the right folder.Zitat:
Zitat von HaxxBlaster
If you dont have winrar go http://www.rarlab.com and download winrar 3.51, then you should be able to extract the .RAR files.
After Installing more than 5 times watiing 2 and a half hour to figure out the problem
:Punk: yahhoO :Punk: finnally. this thing worked 100%.. and i found the problem heajhe.. it was the damn toolchain that i was stuck with :Argh:
i got a error on make with an source i got. but with the irda source worked 100% on making the eboot :icon_razz
I renamed it, and it still don't work.Zitat:

Did you even look at my picture?
Why does the same **** happend? Just look at this Picture , this is the same thing i did, but on another computer, i followed the instructions in to the detail. It say that tha friggin file isn't there, it's sick. Please help me out.
HaxxBlaster - can you show a little more in your picture? Show an "ls" before you cd into the psptoolchain directory.
If it looks different than the other "ls" you did later, then post the picture here.
Also, try doing "cd psptoolchain" twice, I think it may just be that the way you extracted it you have cygwin/home/user/psptoolchain/psptoolchain
Why would you think that, just look at the new picture with ls. Picture I know this stuff, that's why i get so angry about it. The file is there, and it say it is not. But i tryed to rename the "psptoolchain" to "psptoolchain.sh" and it showed alot of errors, but i downloaded the "Psptoolchain" file from the right place, so i may have the wrong file somehow.
yelard my makefile is called "Makefile"
and this is it
Code:TARGET = loadmenu
OBJS = main.o
INCDIR =
CFLAGS = -O2 -G0 -Wall
CXXFLAGS = $(CFLAGS) -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti
ASFLAGS = $(CFLAGS)
LIBDIR =
LIBS = -lpsppower
LDFLAGS =
EXTRA_TARGETS = copied
PSP_EBOOT_TITLE = EBOOT Loader menu
PSPSDK=$(shell psp-config --pspsdk-path)
include $(PSPSDK)/lib/build.mak
copied: menu
mv EBOOT.PBP loadmenu.pbp
menu: EBOOT.PBP
Theese totorials rock i hope to be able to make my own homebrew soon. :Punk: Although the download speed of CYGWIN is slow. :Argh:
Most likely you didn't un-tar/un-rar it right. You're supposed to get a collection of files, not just a single file named 'psptoolchain'. Open up the archive without extracting it first, using winRAR for example, it should open up a window with a single folder called 'psptoolchain'. THIS is the item you should extract. I know it sounds confusing but you have to extract this folder that's in the archive, and not the .tar archive directly. Do this and you'll get several files, including 'psptoolchain.sh' already named that way.Zitat:

And now to something else: I'm wondering if most people here won't mind if I start a new programming tutorial thread (not lua based), one based on how to display graphics to the screen? And other people are welcome to add their own tutorials and advice as well.
I use WinRar daily, i have NEVER had any struggles with it.Zitat:
Zitat von JustChris
Look at this Picture, it is what i see before i extract it, and it is what i get. So what are you dilling about some other more folder?
Is your source file named main.c Calum?
HaxxBlaster - there is no toolchain.sh in there... it can't run it if it isn't. Apparently they changed the file structure, I haven't downloaded it in a while, so I don't know what to tell you, sorry.
Some people said to rename it from .tar to .rar, try that and see if it works.
I tryed it out for the 3'rd time, and it did not worked.Zitat:
Zitat von Yeldarb
Don't anyone have the working "Psptoolchain.sh" ?
It would be kind if you send it to me, or posted it in the thread.
[email protected]
It won't do you any good without the rest of the files that are in the archive, whcih obviously aren't extracting correctly.
That is the same exact file I have, same date and file size. So ti will work.Zitat:
Zitat von HaxxBlaster
Sorry but I forgot to mention that you have to rename it from .tar to .rar. Yeldarb is right about that one. Re-open it in WinRAR, and double-click that 'psptoolchain-20051023' file. Another window will open, this time showing a 'psptoolchain' folder. Right-click it and choose 'Extract to the specified folder' and choose a directory to extract to. Inside you should find the toolchain.sh file.
Lol, that should be in the tutorial. And why don't WinRar detect the file?
And now it says that i need to have "Flex" installed, the tutorial diden't mention that. This drive me fhcking nuts.
EDIT: It works now, but i really think that the tutorial should mention that bit so people don't eat up theyr socks.
HaxxBlaster - it wasn't like that when the tutorials were written. I don't have access to the files on PSPUpdates, but I'll update it on my server.
when i try to use CYGWIN, it says the connecting to server thing, then it says it failed and the server greeting was wrong O.o
great tutorial! just got my sdk compiled but what is the best way to load and draw sprites? i've been looking all over for an answer but just cant find one.
xigency - pgblit.h I've heard, but back in the day (haha, I make it sound so long ago, but really it was only like a month ago), I used Shine's blitting code to draw directly to vram. I'll find a link of an example file that I made for someone, hang on a second and I'll edit my post.
Edit: Argh, the forum must prune posts. My example is no more.
I'll attach it again.
Edit 2: I don't have the original, only a modification that I made of it. But it should show you the basics ;)
(be sure to look at the Makefile, it's important)
k, thanks. ill check it out tomorow (on my psp)
Man i would love to see a good tutorial on loading images in Lua, Its alot different than C++
Okey, great tutorial anyway, it would be the best if you butted in some pictures also, like (Now, the code looks like this) so there is no missunderstanding.Zitat:
Zitat von Yeldarb
And what file should the Makefile be? I thought you said .ie but the shell dident see it.
yeah MAIN.C
