To all the people that have been having problems, I've looked them over, but unfortunately don't know. However, Yeldarb most likely could, but he will not be on until the 26th, he is currently on "holiday" in Europe.

where can i find a list of libraries of sdk and the functions contained in libraries?
Assuming you have a recent version of the SDK and installed cygwin in c:\cygwin, you can get the automatically generated docs at:Zitat:

Hi, I just finished a program which show's a .PNG at the screen, but now I'm wondering how could i use the printf-command to print text over the image? I've tried it several ways, but I still can't get it to show over the picture.
Rather than looking over the entire thread AGAIN lol, I'll just post my problem.
I have a dialup connection, and obvioulsy the setup of the enviroment would take ages. I took my laptop to work, and used the broadband connection to download the files, and it installed the cygwin stuff on the laptop. I got home, and transferred the install files to my desktop in the same folder, My Documents/Cygwin Install/... then I copied C:/cygwin from the laptop over to the desktop, also in c:/cygwin . I double click the bat file in c:/cygwin, and I get an error "bash.exe: warning: could not find /tmp, please create !"
Well, I checked , an dthere is a tmp folder in c:/cygwin already. Anyone know why it doesnt work ? It does work on the laptop if that matters.
Here is a pic of the error, along with the cygwin directory:

are anyone gonna release any more lua tut's I'mm all out of new idea, except my new program.................. ......................... ........................
I wonder if there's a way to encrypt the code to hide it from prying eyes does anyone know?
So, doesn't anybody know how I can use printf-command to print text over the .PNG -picture? I've tried the whole day to do it, but still the text isn't showing up :( The code of my .PNG -loader is done exactly the same way as in the Lesson 04.
Is C very similar to lua?
wow 113 pages.. i cant be pissed to read them!
C is harder to learn than luaZitat:

Much harder.
Not in my life time :icon_razz ...Zitat:

But it doe's kinda resemble it i guess.
much much harder!
hmmmm, sorry, i dont understand why all say that C is SO HARD to learn,
i mean that C is so hard as C++, Pascal, C#, Visual Basic, Java, assambler,........
I don't programm in lua, i dont think that i have to programm in a more easily language when i can programm in c, the only hard thing is to find out the commands, ALL say if i dont know a command i can't programm, and so they dont tell me the command, realy stupidly!!!.
but one stupid question i have:
is there a command in the psp H files for a delay???
or can i use my own H files?
sorry for this post here
You can create your own header (.h) files, you have to define and include them correctly, but yes. Also, you can use pspKernelDelayThread(*num ber here*) . Each number in the paranthesis causes a delay of I think 1 ms, but I'm not positive. Just use guess and check.

i just now that all programming languages are easy if you understand the basics of programming ;)
I NEED HELP!!!!, i got a new computer, and i have to install toolchain again,
but the toolchain on oopo.net dont run, there is just 1 file in the unziped file?! , is there an other side to download or can someone send it (*toolchain*) by email to me?? , (* [email protected] *)
thx for help :PC:
Sometimes extraction programs screw up the unpacking.
Redownlod the toolchain and put it in your C:/cygwin/home/yourname and extract the file in CYGWIN with this command:
(you'll need to change the date to the date on the file)Code:tar xfvz psptoolchain-20051023.tgz
I love you Yeldarb, but whats with that nut-case avatar? lol in any case, finally got a paypal account once I started publishing here. Ill donate some soon!
I was reading on http://www.scriptscribbler.com/psp/t...s/lesson01.htm
and when I get to this step in the setup for Cygwin. it say's to extract psptoolchain-20060120.tgz file and there should be toolchain.hs in the directory that I just extracted it to and the file is not there. all that is located in the directory is "psptoolchain-20060120" with no file extention anyone know why? or how can i fix it.
here is the exact information from the tutorial.
Zitat:
We now need to change directories to where we extracted the toolchain. Type "ls" in the bash shell; this stands for list. It will give us an output of all of the files in our current directory (this is similar to "dir" in a Windows command line). Now you should see a folder named "psptoolchain," this is where we want to go. So type "cd psptoolchain" and hit enter. CD stands for change directory, and it will (obviously) switch the current operating directory). Now do a quick "ls" again, and you will see the files in this folder. The one that we are going to use to set everything up is "toolchain.sh."
please help..
There's a better way to get the right toolchain. In your cygwin window type the following:
After it finishes do the following:Code:svn co svn://svn.ps2dev.org/psp/trunk/psptoolchain
Then go watch some TV or find something else to do for a few hours.Code:cd psptoolchain
./toolchain.sh
Thank you for the fast reply but for some reason I keep getting "command not found"
I dont think I missed of the other steps...
At what point do you get "command not found?"
If you get that message when trying to use svn you'll need to download the svn package using the Cygwin setup utility. You'll need svn to build the toolchain as well.
I opend Cgywin and when i type the command
that is when i get "command not found" I will try to dl the package but should it not have done this when I first installed cgywin?.Zitat:
svn co svn://svn.ps2dev.org/psp/trunk/psptoolchain
But now that you said that i notice that it was set to default and a few things skiped while installing. so it must have assumed that i already had toolchain.hs installed or somthing.
thx for ur help also...
I don't think Cygwin downloads svn by default. Rerun the cygwin setup.exe and select "subversion" under the "devel" section.
Some mirrors are missing SVN, you'll have to use one that has it. It's kind of a sporatic error, I've never witnessed it but I've had several people email me asking about it.
30 hours later..... its finnaly done setting up cygwin . I got to the second lesson and now i can't compile the main.c document. once again I get "command not found" only when i type "make" in cygwin...
sorry for the noobishness...
I would have thought it wouldn't compile the toolchain without the make command, but try this in your cygwin window:Zitat:
Zitat von Caution
If it says command not found, run the Cygwin setup again and download "make" from the devel list. Otherwise you have the make command and there may be a problem with your makefile, which you'll need to post.Code:which make
Im bored tonight, so i have decided to try and conquer this once more....I will post back if i need any help
Cygwin setup is taking forever, and now it seems like it froze at 58%
To set a standard, please follow the directions posted here:
http://www.psp-programming.com/dev-f....php?p=386#386
It directs you to use http://sources-redhat.mirror.redwire.net as the server to download the packages from. It has been confirmed by me to work.
I'm not sure if this matters or not, but when I installed it, I simply let my computer sit and did not touch it, let alone browse the web :pZitat:

I had left it for a while and I kepy checking and it was going study until then, i just gave up for now, ill try again tomorrow
On lesson 2, I was trying to make the main.c, but it read some errors :make:psp-config: command not found, makefile #12: lib/build/mak:No such file or directory, make: *** No rule to make target ' /lib/build.mak'
You forgot to install the Devel package in the CYGWIN installer. That is why CYGWIN doesn't recongnize the make command.Zitat:
Zitat von Frenchb0yenius
OHHHH, thnks i appreciate it.
Wait a sec. I installed the devel package and it still doesn't work. It gave me the same errors.
Then re-install cygwin form a diffrent host ( choose another download location in the list ).
