The idea is simple. Make a video from google earth and put it on the PSP. This article explains how to get the video from google earth by using FRAPS and Virtual Dub.
http://www.gemcor.com/media/randomaccess/C1018474727/E20050714110320/ After that I had problems. Because I try using PSP Video 9 to convert it to a PSP format but no good. It says it can't find the source for the video and audio. I re encoded it into a couple formats with virtual dub but no good. If someone can explain to me how to take the video from fraps and put it on the PSP we got a good article here for the site. Google Earth video on the PSP. VERY USEFUL. |

You can make a video out of anything with fraps (as long as it's rendered in opengl, direct3d, or directx). We already have PSPMaps, why would a low res video of google earth help us? Also, save it as an uncompressed AVI in virtualdub (not encoded by divx), that's the only way psp video 9 will be able to read it I think. (and yes, it should come out to be around 200MB-1GB, don't be scared, it won't be that huge on the psp :P)
EDIT: Didn't know google earth could show paths, this could be a nice idea. |
