Also note the word public I don't think Sony would make this key public.

my rule is simple... download the iso...play the game...if i enjoy the game...i buy the game...then erase the iso...if i don't...then i just simple erase the game and be glad that i didn't buy it. if no one buys the game, the game doesn't do well and can't be considered a success, no matter how good the game really is. if it was unsuccessful, then sony will not get the game makers to create another game or a sequel, then the game companies will have to fire the programmers, the artist etc. the people who don't pay for the games they enjoy are the reason why sony will not let you run homebrew, so don't blame sony, blame yourself if you don't buy the gamesOriginally Posted by oni8245

You think? I've decrypted the firmware (not this one, yet..) along with many other users. What do you think the firmware decrypter app is for?Originally Posted by Kung_Lao
Public keys allow you to decrypt. Private keys are only required for encryption. Otherwise, asymmetric encryption schemes would be useless.
Regardless though, the keys in the certificate files are nothing to do with the firmware encryption. They're just web browser certificates, for https connections. Periodically someone spots them, and declares "Yay, I found the encryption keys". Shortly after, someone traditionally hits them with the clue bat.

ok so i was looking at the network update and it says (after your done downloading) to press x to start the update, now i edited a 1.0 really old psp application from dl.qj.net and changed the SFO to match exactly with Sonys official 3.30 update,i packeged that sfo with the data.psp of the old homebrew application, well to my surprise it loaded and the scheduler (the 1.0 psp app) worked! so is this anything or something?
We already decrypted every firmware cameout so far...(except this one)...Originally Posted by Kung_Lao

damn but thanks anyways - I was just asking because I knew that sony wouldn't be stupid enough to just put the encryption key in plain view...Originally Posted by Fanjita

apparently freeplay, i wasn't paying attention. I didn't look at the PRX's, but someone did and says that it looks decrypted.
