UPDATE: HERE IS A BETTER WAT TO DO IT :)
UPDATE/EDIT: While i realize that many do not care, I was successful in adding locationfree tv back onto the custom firmware 3.40 OE-A. I had to remove/replace the gb3s1518.bwfon and jpn0.pgf (japanese fonts and some symbols but since i use english these are useless to me) but everything else seems to be good. i am still very new to this so if my tutorial can be streamlined or improved upon let me know.
I would like to give credit to MaTiAz for his help and since most of my writting here is directly copied from his words and advice.
Assuming you have some sort of custom firmware (or 1.5?)
files you will need
psp decrypter http://dl.qj.net/PSP-v3.30-Decrypter...3379/catid/114
pbp unpacker http://dl.qj.net/PBP-Unpacker-v0.94-...8808/catid/192
and what ever official firmware you want to get the locationfree files off of
(I used 3.40 http://dl.qj.net/PSP-FW-3.40-for-the...3547/catid/163 )
Boot into recovery mode go to advanced and enable the flash0 usb toggle.
This site talks about which files can be deleted or replaced, i only replaced the first two with the itn0.pgf (copy itn0.pgf to your desktop and rename to jpn0.pgf, repeat and rename to .gb3s1518.bwfon ).
then you need to extract the DATA.PSAR of your firmware to your desktop so you can get the lftv files out of it. i used a program called PBP unpacker. copy the DATA.PSAR file to the root of your memory stick (where PICTURE, PSP, and MP_ROOT are located).
Copy psardumper to your PSP\GAME folder. then start your psp and run psardumper from memorystick under the game logo. Once that is up and running press the button that corresponds to "dump files with sigcheck" (i believe it was x). after this process is done the DATA.PSAR file will be expanded into a folder labeled f0 on your memory stick. put the psp into normal usb mode and copy all the lftv_.prx files from F0\vsh\module to your flash0\vsh\nodule folder (NOTE: NODULE NOT module). Then copy all the .rco files named lftv from F0\vsh\resource to flash0\vsh\resource.
After this just reboot the psp (exit whatever program you are using to access the flash) and all should be well!
My initial post:
I am considering downgrading my 3.03 psp to 1.5 and then installing custom firmware. my problem is i dont know which to pick. from what i hear, 3.03 oe is the best, but doesnt have locationfree player. since i have a locationfree, i would like to use it. which firmware should i use, and what features would i lose?
i looked at the "need help deciding" but it isnt complete cause i dont know how many support locationfree
