Nope, just put the new EBOOT in your GAME150 folder and run it. It doesn't need to build an installer, it just patches. You can delete the old installer (Or even format your memory stick) before you update if you want to.
hey guys. I'm having some problems installing 3.52 M33. Okay, so I followed the instructions, the kxploitpatcher came with the m33 Rar. Ran that. Downloaded both 1.50 and 3.52 and I renamed them. I ran the M33 Creator game. It got to Writing 3.52... and then shut down. It never said OK as far as I could tell. So I look for M33 Update to run, but I don't see it. All I see is a new corrupted data icon under games. I do see the update folder in PSP\Game though. Is there something I have to do for it to show up? I thought kxploitpatcher would take care of that?

I'm trying to install the 3.52 CFW from my 1.50 PSP. I have an original 1.50 never updated or anything, and I ran the patcher. The M33 creator loads ok, then it gets to the part where it says "Writing 3.52 firmware" and the screen goes black and the psp shuts off.
The update program is never created, and I just get a corrupted data icon where it should be. Any help?
I have devhook installed in addition to a few other homebrew emulators/programs. I also have a 4 gig stick with just under a gig of space left.
Edit: After investing way too much time, I got it to work. I ditched my big stick, reformatted my old 256, and put nothing but the install files on there. Worked the first time like a charm. Thanks for the help and the guide. Loving the custom firmware so far after sticking with just 1.5 since the beginning.
Ok i have upgraded my PSP from 1.50 to custom 3.52 did everything as it says in the video and the tutorial should i get a black screen with writing as shown in the pictures on the first page?If so then currently they arent there

You won't brick because of any region update you use - they're all the same anyway. Also, your PSP will default to O being enter because it's a Japanese PSP, but you can change it at any time in Recovery under Registry Hacks. Trust me, mine's Japanese, too.Zitat:

You'll need to downgrade using a recovery package. Why you'd want to i don't know. Custom firmware has all the advantages of 1.5 with the advantages of modern firmwares, and some cool extras. If you're sure you want to go back, get a recovery package from This Thread. You'll want the 1.50 one. Basic instructions are there, and if you need help with anything else, ask away.Zitat:

Can someone help me out? when im trying to use the m33 creator it gets the loading the 3.52 firmware then the psp just turns off. what am i doing wrong? im on original 1.5 firmware and already patched it before trying it
Are you sure the 352.PBP is named right or even exists?
been reading alot through this thread and i saw a few people have "3.03 OE-C" and succesfully installed i was wondering i to have "3.03 OE-C" but its a "TA-082" and i have all the 3.52 M33 Custom Firmware files on my psp. Hello, I try to download this Custom Firmware but the only thing that happens is this:

Loading 1.50 firmware... OK.

Loading 3.52 firmware... OK.

And then the PSP just turns off! What should I do? I have PSP Version 1.50 btw.
Are you placing the 352.PBP in the same place as 150.PBP, and make sure you haven't given it two extensions.
Yes they are in the same place. Everything works fine until the PSP stops working, and then 10 seconds later it shuts down.

BPhoenyxx, if you're on 3.51 or 3.52, you must use the Pandora Battery to downdate. Since there are already downgraders for other FWs, you can use them provided you have GTA:LCS or Lumines if you are on 2.81 to 3.50. Here are guides for using Pandora's Battery and/or The Ultimate Downgrader Guide.
Maeftada, what memory stick are you using? I think distributing the EBOOT is illegal therefore I won't be able to send it to you.
