I'm truly sorry for bumping this old thread, but I seriously don't want to make another new thread. I just got a Slim today, and it sadly has the 3.71 firmware on it. Since I haven't been catching up with the PSP scene lately, I was wondering if I can put custom firmware on it even if it's on 3.71. Anyone help me?
nvm fixed it
1 question can this be done with a 32mb SD Card and if so could someone point me in the right direction before i brick my psp thanks :D
Nope, neither of these will fit in 32MB.Zitat:

By the way, i'm guessing you mean Memory Stick Duo, as SD doesn't fit in the PSP =P
I'd recommed buying yourself a big one. 2GB sticks are quite reasonable in price now, jsut make sure you get a genuine Memory Stick Pro Duo with MagicGate.
yea sorry for SD mistake and maaan that suxx ass :( i have 3.03 OE-C do i have any other options ?
You might be able to do it over USBHOSTFS. That'll require you to run iRShell while you make the updater. It worked for me with 3.10 OE, so it should still work here.Zitat:

Hi!
Sorry, if this has been asked, but I read through the first few pages and didnt find anything.
I treid to install this CFW on a slim, prepared the battery, the memory stick etc, and sticked perfectly to the guide, step by step, but when I finally wanted to flash the firmware (Pandora worked, slim had a blank screen and power and WIFI light lit, I could even do the nand dump) the ms led flashed just very briefly, it turned itself off and in the install log (on the ms) said:
Needless to say, my slim was still on OFW. Is there any fix for that or should I just try to do start over again (I really sticked perfectly to the guide!)Code:Install initialization... OK
Reading IPL... OK
Verifying ipl... Failed -> Not the expected IPL
BTW they are european models (both PSPs used)
Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem last time i did it, it said the same thing but it worked but this time i dont know to fix the IPL problem someone out there that can give some help besides telling me remake the IPL(which iono how, i just redo all steps)
hey
this was cool!!:Jump:
it worked fine, i just have two questions,
sorry if this was mentioned before, there are so many pages and i couldn't find it in search...
after i finish the update, can i delete the files, and/or which files?
and how does the program, the one that allows to unbrick a semi brick PSP, in the recovery mode, work? i mean, like, do i have to put something in that folder...
thanx a lot.  :)
update 4 asks for password does anybody know what it is
That is the password for M33-4.Code:DANIEL_SERAFIN_BRICKED_HIS_ASS_BY_M33
You can delete all files on your memory stick after installation. None of thsoe are needed anymore. As for the recovery files, you'll need to search the forums for OE Recovery packages - there's a thread with a lot of them. You'll likely want wither the 1.50 one, or one for a firmware lower than 2.80 for easy reinstallation of CFW. If you're on a slim, none of them will work.Zitat:

Hey guys,
I need some help. I made the Phat Pandora Battery but when I put it in the PSP Slim, the power light turns green. (It appears to be on.) When I press X, nothing happens. The Memory stick light doesn't blink. Nada.
Pushing the power button up (To turn it on, even though the power light is already green.) Then pressing X doesn't do anything either.
Did you make the stick specifically for the slim?
Uh...
I'm not sure.. I did make the normal Pandora, then I had to install this '360M33_for_Slim' thingy.
Remake the stick following this guide, just to be sure. The battery was made right since the PSP turns on, so it has to be the stick.
Alright, thanks!
I'm performing the firmware creator now and its taking forever, I'm stuck at "writing 3.52 firmware... " with the memory stick light continously flashing.
Should I leave it or turn the thing off?

Man!!! 1 hour!!!!
You cannot upgrade from an official firmware, if that's what you mean by 3.51.
Hey all,
Question, Ive downgraded sucessfully from a 2.01 fw to 1.50 fw. i want to get uptodate with the M33 cfw and started here with your guide.
I followed it to the letter and everything went perfectly, except when i went to check my new fw version im still on V1.50?
ive tryed a cold boot and no change. What have i done wrong?
Thanx in adv,
Adz.

Human error as always, didnt see the "execute m33update" bit.
*slaps head*
cool thx
My firmware is M33 3.51 and i'm trying to upgrade it to 3.52 or anything higher but I can't. I put all the stuff like M33Creator, 150.pbp and 352pbp, and eboot.pbp
I start the M33 creator but it has a (80020148) error. what's wrong, and can anyone help?
There is no 3.51M33.
...
yes there is. it was the first m33.

Just wondering how safe it is to upgrade to CFW. still a chance to brick ur psp at all?
There is a chance, but it only derives from the fact that you can turn your PSP off in the process of updating your PSP (which of course you do not want to do). Other than that, no, you are safe.
Sweet, i'll upgrade in just a bit then :)
Before you update using this guide, there are more recent custom firmwares available, such as this one. ;)
thats true, but when I read the guides, it tells me to update first to this then the 3.71 then to 3.9
Yeah, you need to be on (at least) 3.52M33 to upgrade to 3.90M33.
If your on 3.52 then you can upgrade right to 3.90 M33.
quick question tho. does the 3.90 have full support for everything? casue i've heard theres errors or people don't like it for some reason? any explanation on this? My bro tells me 1.50 is the best and he uses CFW
1.50 is very outdated. If you are using a Classic PSP, you can install the 1.50 kernel anyway, so there is no point in 1.50 official firmware anymore. Of course, you will always run across some errors, but most homebrew runs perfect on it.
jeeze, everything was simpler in the old days when 1.50 could do everything we wanted. but thx for your help, i appreciate it.
Also, much of the homebrew nowadays is made for the 3.XX kernel, which cannot be accessed on 1.50.
Hey guys I am trying to update to 3.52 M33-2 so that I can then update to the latest firmware. I am having some problems though.
Right now I have 3.52 M33 so all I would need to do is download that one file and place the folders onto my card like this:
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5313/picture2ks4.png
then all I would need to do is run the update file. The problem is that when I try to run it I go over to Game-> Memory Card-> then it says "There are no games". As you can see I have put the file on. What am I doing wrong?

Do I need to have the 150.PBP and 352.PBP in there too and thats why its not working?
I cant do it if thats the case b/c my memory card crapped out and I am stuck with a 32 MB one :(. I'm getting a new one soon, Im far behind on firmware just because I have put of buying new memory for so long.
I bellieve that it should be in GAME, not GAME150. Also, make sure GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW in recovery is set to 3.52. For updates (like M33-4) you don't need the EBOOTS.
LOL @ Big Mac. OS X ftw.
I am on kernel 3.52 not on 1.5
Let me try it with GAME and not GAME150
What do you mean by this "Also, make sure GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW"
Oh yeah and Mac OSX FTW I love it! My icon used to be a hamburger but I lost it in the Leopard upgrade :(. Too lazy to fix it again :).

Oh my god I feel stupid. I could have sworn I tried that, now it boots but it says that "The game could not be started."
That is probably from this "Do I need to have the 150.PBP and 352.PBP in there too and thats why its not working?

Right?
