Yesterday, I decided to upgrade from 3.40 OE to whichever firmware M33 had currently out. I managed to upgrade to M33's 3.71-2 firmware with the 1.5 V2 addon, and everything worked fine at first. However, after running the firmware for a few minutes, I couldn't run some homebrew programs (It would load the UMD loaded in the slot instead, or just not work if there's not a UMD in the slot) and when I went into recovery, I could access any menu except the configuration menu, which when accessed, the screen would go black (backlight still on) and within a few seconds, the PSP would turn off.
I could still use recovery, so I downgraded back to 1.5, and worked my way back up to M33 3.71-2 a few times. The same problem persisted when upgrading to 3.71-2 without the addon, and just 3.71, so I eventually gave up and left it at 3.52-4.
I decided to try and upgrade it again today, and after reading through the 3.71 installation sticky and 10 pages of threads with M33 3.71 issues, I decided to give it another shot by disabling all plugins and formatting flash 1 from the recovery menu, as there had been some issues with that.
I disabled all my plugins (popsloader that came with M33 3.52-4 update and custom firmware extender 1.8.1) and formatted flash 1 in that order, and since then the 3.71 updater wont' show up as a proper program, only as a corrupted data icon. fiddling around with the recovery menu couldn't fix this, and I've been stumped by it.
Any suggestions on the initial problem, the new one with the update not working, etc?
