I wonder how well POPS is holding up in these new firmwares, especially the big 5-0.

EDIT: WHAT?!!

POPS isn't working but DAX said he is working on a newer version because of this.

Can anyone access the site right now? It seems to be down..

Or can anyone host a mirror on RapidShare or MegaUpload instead? Or maybe someone got the official download link, I believe DAX hosts the files on RS these days..

why dont people just use the auto updater provided by team M33 ? lot easier than downloading it off some file site and installing it the long way....

Oh I see what you mean. You mean the updater on the PSP? Yeah, its usually faster to download on PC and copy to PSP. It is for me anyway.

Thats what lots of people do. I'm downloading it that way right now.

It is a bit slower. I've got 70 KB/s right now.

Also its buggier than doing it the traditional way. I got an error and my PSP rebooted the first time, for example.

I used the netwprk updater but when the system downloaded the 5.00 pbp file and starts to unpack it says wrong file.... guess I'll do it the manual way.

Because it didn't work like 15 mins ago.

"A connection to the server could not be established."

I guess it works now.

This update is pretty sweet. I don't need to bother with the PC Playstation Store, which never seems to work properly in Firefox, or the downloader anymore. The new keyboard is perfect, as well. It should have been there since the beginning. The only problem I have with it is I have to switch to it every time. Is there a way to make the new keyboard default?

Also the new waves are awesome, especially in the visualizer. They respond more visibly to music.

I completely agree. I also like the 'Auto-USB Mode' - function, although it wasn't that hard to click the USB Mode icon in the XMB.. ;-)

Right now I'm waiting for some themes and maybe CXMB 3.3. That would be great.

PSStore to block CFW's? I think not.
There are some rumors around the net, that newest psp fw, 5.00, will block the access to PSStore to non-original firmwares.

It will be interesting to clarify that this is just a rumor, and it's most probably a fake information.

You'd might remember times where someone said that 3.00ofw was going to be THE firmware, unhackable, etc etc.

Well, atm, using the future systemctrl.prx for 5.00 cfw, it doesn't even blocks the partial cfw made by now, so from here it's interesting to confirm that you shouldn't believe on rumors. So, PSStore won't be a problem with future cfw's.

Been away from the CFW scene for a bit, but was curious if its cool to go from 3.71 M33-4 straight to 5.00 M33..

Never had any reason to upgrade until now.

Hahah. I got a BSoD right after I updated and I just LOL'd. Oh how I missed that screen ahah. It was more than likely because I updated while I had a theme on.

I love this firmware already hahaha.

The new wave bg makes my PSP feel...NEW! Haha. Exciting time for us homebrew users =]. I also like how fast PSN is.

Popsloader doesn't work? That's fine. DaX will more than likely come up with something new...thing needs to be updated anyway.

But wow...this stuff is awesome.

Everything works fine for me, but for some reason I can't connect to wi-fi anymore at home like I used to in 4.01, anyone else have this problem?

Nope, wifi still works perfectly. Granted, I had to set up my connections again due to the BSOD I got, but that was no trouble at all.

I really like how well the PS Store works on the PSP. I figured they'd take the easy way out and just make a PSP-compatible website and load it in the browser, like they did with internet radio. Fortunately it's built into the firmware, so it works great. And I haven't been banned yet, so I'm assuming Sony does in fact still want our money even though we're using modified firmware. 8)

All that we are hoping for is DC8 perhaps a minor update to 7 until v3 of the slim gets hacked. but 5.00 M33 is what really counts and I am very happy with 5.00 M33 & DC7 for now.

Thank you Dark-Alex for your CFW.
