Here's how to access the PSN without using 5.01 technically..

Want an unoffical version of 5.01 M33? , here you go!!!

1. Download the official 5.01 update data

2. Rename the official 5.01 update data from UPDATE.PBP to 5.00.PBP

3. Lunch the 5.00 M33 installer.

4. Press X to verify the 500.PBP

5. After the verification is done, before pressing X to start the update process (Remove your MS, use a USB card reader or another PSP connect it to your PC.

6. Copy the 5.01 update data which you had renamed to 5.00.PBP in then UPDATE folder (This will overwrite the original 5.00.PBP in the UPDATE folder)

7. Put the MS in your PSP again, press X to install the Unofficial 5.01 M33

NOTE: you will need both 5.00 & 5.01 update data

Big ups to Fadil Team for the fix....

What if you already installed 5.00 M33 before this method was posted? I get: "This update or a higher one was already applied".

Naturally it would work, the only files that changed were the version.txt and one prx.

you have to downgrade to 4.01 or something else and then try to install it.

However DA says not to do this. Just install 5.00 M33-2 and then swap out the 1 prx and the version.txt and your good.

What? No, all you gotta do is dump 5.01 using the current PSARdumper and just grab the version.txt and copy that over the version.txt in your flash0...

It'll still be useless, though, as you said..since he's fixing that in 5.00 M33-3.
