Hey, just wanted to say thanks in advance to anyone who can help. A year or two ago, I used to involve myself in firmware (when 3.4 OE-A) was the highest custom firmware. I did it mostly to play roms and such, and since then, haven't really tried to fiddle around with the firmware.
A long while later, I learned about certain methods to play ps1 games on my PSP and upgraded to 3.8 for that to play FF9. This time, however, I needed help because I've been out of touch too long.
Anyways, now my current situation is that my brother downloaded the Final Fantasy Dissidia Demo from PSN, and I'd really like to try it out, only the game is telling me that 5.5 firmware is required to even start the game, and although this isn't the case with the Japanese version, I'm assuming this will be the case when the game is officially released, and this is one of the few games I actually want to buy for my PSP. So I need to upgrade.
From skimming around, I see that 5.00 M-33 is the most current, but there's a less stable 5.5 alternative. Someone else also mentioned somewhere that there's a mod to make 5 M-33 run as if it were 5.5. I need to know what I need to upgrade to so I can play this game, am praying that it is possible, and was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a guide to upgrading to whatever firmware is necessary? (The thread with guides only lists up to my current firmware).
Anyways, it will be VERY much appreciated if anyone could help me, and I offer my sincerest thanks. I'm about to leave for work, so unfortunately, I won't be able to respond to whatever anyone says for about 4 hours. At that time, however, I'll be back reading this thread and (hopefully) responding with gratitude.
