my friend just got a pso and gta, what i found strange was that his had a required 2.6 update. since he already had 2.01 i told him wtf. i try to get the eloader working and it is inposible ive follwed the directions perfectly. and it just loads up some save that has 7% completion and 2k. so my question is. has sony rigged gta's firmware update?

They might have "rigged" it..i'll need some confirmation.

Has GTA required 2.6 before this?
It is possibley a new version of GTA with the exploit patched

Hmm, did you try the auto-installer, if you did that and it still doesnt work, manually do it.

wow thats weird the gta always neede a 2.0 to start maybe sony patched something up which dont seem logical but im in 1.5 so not my prob no offense thought

Wasn't the GTA exploit in the firmware -- And not in GTA itself?
I think there was a bug in loading a gamesave, EC found an overflow, then the CheatDevice, and eLoader came to be. Unless Sony rigged it so GTA cannot load the eLoader specific savedata.

An exploit of this sort could be patched by either GTA or by the firmware, so sony may have asked rockstar to patch their gamesave loading system. The actuall exploit was in GTA, not the firmware
