Update
I read the readme again thanks anyway :D
Mine got stuck there for almost a 1/2 an hour, and I have read horror stories about it taking up to 2 hours... Just leave it plugged in to A/C power and just letit do it's thing. Go watch o movie or something. (I put mine under my desk at work, and went out to lunch.)Zitat:

If you followed this step:Zitat:

Turn your PSP off, and turn it back on, holding the 'R' trigger button. The PSP will enter recovery mode, don't panic. Scroll to configuration, and press 'X'. Scroll to Game folder homebrew, and press 'X' until it displays "(currently: 1.50 Kernel)". You may also disable hide corrupt icons and disable SCE logo. Also, you may notice that your recovery menu is now orange or red. This is normal.
Then, dont put the "OE_update" folder in the X:/PSP/GAME/GAME105 folder, just put it right in the in the X:/PSP/GAME folder.
The readme file that comes with 3.02 OE-B Update assumes you left the PSP in 3.02 Kernel mode. (if you did, you would need the GAME105 folder.)
I dont get this bit.. which update file?Zitat:

What exactly do i need to put where? :S - I know i have to put things in usbhost0/ (at least i think i do) but i dont knwo what or where to put them...
Please help ^_^
EDIT: This is how i originally had the files from the rar... PSP/GAME/[all the un rared files here]
PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker/EBOOT.PBP
/150.PBP
/302.PBP
That froze my psp when i went to use it so i tried movign every thing but the %oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker to the root of the memory stick - that froze my psp aswell. I think im missing something and being a complete newbie...
By the way im using usbhost redirect to use my pc as ms0:/ because my memory stick isnt big enough. To use the files in the ms0:/ i made i go to Lunch XMB on irshell and then when going to game > memorystick the psp freezes...
Ive also noticed that in usbhost it syas couldn't strt cygdrive/d/.... ????
Help? :P
will there ever be a flawless PS1 emulator for the psp 1.5 owners???
i dont know y but i jus dnt wana upgrade 2 3.02OE-A......
Can I go from 1.5 straight to 3.02 OE-B?
No Flai you must go through 1.5 > 3.02 OE-A > OE-B.
Definately don't want to do this now. I'll just stick with 1.5. I have only been playing Portable Ops anyway....Zitat:

Dude 3.02 OE is alot better than 1.5. Plus it has OE in it :).
yes 302OE-A and B are better than 1.5CFW... i have been die-hard 1.5 fan but i upgraded to check it out ,,, if you don't like it u can just downgrade back to 1.5
I can't even get the oeupdmaker to work... I just get some error saying something like "error (dxar) flash0:/kd/ata.prx", when it's doing the "extracting and packing 1.50 firmware subset". Searched the thread, but I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem?
Edit: Never mind, a full memory stick is obviously not a good start when extracting files. :o
Great tutorial and I'd like to add myself to the list of folks who upgraded without 'bricking' it too much (ok, I didn't brick it at all!) :D
I do have a few remarks about the turorial, nothing major but if you're trying to follow things to the letter then this is perhaps relevant:
There's a few typo's that I've highlighted above.Zitat:

This confused me. I didn't have to overwrite anything, perhaps because I formatted my stick beforehand?Zitat:

do i have to uninstall devhook .51 or can i jus leave it on there?
You can just leave it there.
Ok, I've tried upgrading to 3.02 OE-A two times now. Each time I got to the end of the process where it tells you to restart your psp manually. I do. It turns on but the screen stays black, then turns off. It does nothing more then this. Luckily I can get into recovery mode, so I've ended up going back to 1.5 twice.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do about it? Has this happened to anyone else?
Recently updated 1.50 to 3.02 OE-A and it works fine. Now I'm trying to update to 3.02 OE-B but having no success, i put the OEB_UPDATE folder into the GAME folder then try to load it but it comes up with
"The game could not be started.
(80020148)"
Any suggestions guys?
Are you in 1.5 mode?
Go into recovery mode - config & set 'game homebrew kernel' to 1.50 * run againZitat:

edit: nevermind
I had this same problem. Try putting your settings on NO-UMD mode and 1.5 Kernel. Thats how I fixed it, for me.Zitat:

Hi
Will there be any problem is I use Both 1.50 % 3.02 JAP Firmware?
Or do I must use 1.50 USA and 3.02 JAP?
thanks:tup:
Make sure you download the firmwares from links in this site or any other quality site. Search the forums for the download links. Where possible run a md5 program to check the hash of your generated DATA.DXAR file against what it should be. If you flash 1 with a different hash/crc yo will probably brick your PSP.
anyone?Zitat:

The Japanese Firmware Updates are the same as the US ones. I dont know Jebus why it does that for you. After you restart manually it should boot up and be 3.02 OE-A.
you can upgrade from 2.71 SE-B" right?
Before doing any updating I do the following steps (note some may be unecessary but I am paranoid when flashing (!)):-
========================= ===============
Backup the existing MS files to your PC
If you have DevHook installed then uninstall these files from F1: from the DevHook menu.
Format the MS
Choose Default Settings in the PSP
Enter Recovery mode and set the following:-
IN RECOVERY MENU 'PSP GAME FOLDER HOMEBREW' SET TO 1.50 KERNEL
IN RECOVERY MENU 'UMD AUTORUN' SET TO DISABLED
IN RECOVERY MENU 'SKIP SCE LOGO' SET TO DISABLED
Set to DEFAULT VALUES any other settings you may have changed in config or advanced.
If you have any plugins remove them as well.
MAKE SURE YOUR PSP IS AT 100% BATTERY CHARGE.
DO NOT HOLD THE PSP - REST IT ON A SURFACE.
MAKE SURE THE AC ADAPTER IS PLUGGED IN AND SUPPLYING POWER TO THE PSP.
Once you have generated the DATA.DXAR file run the MD5.EXE program on your PC & paste the right hash in it. Then check this against the generated DATA.DXAR file on your PSP.
ONLY PROCEED IF THE MD5 PROGRAM SAYS THERE IS A MATCH !!
========================= ===============
can someone explain the plugins?
Also I was told to do everything in the GAME150 instead of the GAME folder during my next attempt.
Also do I really need to delete dh before attempting to upgrade? I heard here dh does not need to be touched.
What would be a good idea - get Dark Alex's 3.02OE-A & -B packages and print out the readme.txt files - he does an excellent job (as usual!) at describing the upgrade process - where to put files and so on.Zitat:
Zitat von Jebus Christ
My gut feeling is to make your PSP as 'bare-bones' as possible - take away anything that could mess up the Dark Alex install. It just isn't worth leaving plugins, dh files and so on that may or may not intefere with flashing your PSP - as you may brick your PSP. You can always install versions that are compatible with 3.02OE-B after you have done a succesful flash.
Like Dark Alex says there is a very small risk of bricking your PSP *even* if you follow his instructions to the letter <gulp!>.
what are plugins though?
plugins are prxs that add extra functions such as screenshots and overclocking.Zitat:
Zitat von Jebus Christ
They have nothing to do with the GAME folders.
ok im pretty sure I dont have those, especially since I had to have them explained to me.............
hey, i still don't get this part, where do I get the right HASH?Zitat:
Once you have generated the DATA.DXAR file run the MD5.EXE program on your PC & paste the right hash in it. Then check this against the generated DATA.DXAR file on your PSP.
ONLY PROCEED IF THE MD5 PROGRAM SAYS THERE IS A MATCH !!
Obviously someone couldn't be bothered to read the README.txt file...Zitat:
Zitat von psxiso
Its about line 20 in the readme file for the OE-A package....
plugins are extra programs - prx's that run under the PSP firmware - they are used to add functionality to the PSP - search the forum for how to install them.
You can get plugins that do screen capture, set brightness, etc.
There is always a risk they may destablise the firmware though so make sure you read any readme.txt files and check for compatiblity (!)

Can I get rid of devhook my simply deleting all folders associated with it?
