Make sure you don';t have the TA-082 mobo by checking for the gold letters on the RHS behind the UMD drive. Use the right flash package for your PSP.

Try taking out your MS & then booting up from cold to check the firmware you have flashed is 'stable' - try going into system settings.

Try going into the recovery menu & disabling all plugins.

Also if you don't have the MS:\ISO, MS:\PSP\GAME & MS:\PSP\GAME150 folders you will probably experience 'lock-ups' & other weird errors.

For homebrew you should check the compatibility list in this forum - its a sticky item. Not all homebrew works and some will prevent your PSP from booting up from what I've seen so far.

why its the 3.02 update JP? does that matter?

i have dh46 with 2.71/3.01 hybrid .. but dh its not needed with this fw right?
also on the 302oe folder i have these:
flasher for recovery/RECOVERY with some files on it... where does this go?

2.71/3.01 hybrid? what do you mean?

You don't need the flasher for recovery unless you have to downgrade back to 1.50

my hybrid has files from fw 3.01 on my 2.71 folder.. runs others games 2.71 doesnt.. anyways if i want to go back to 1.50 where would that recovery folder go?

-I don't have a psp with a ta-082 motherboard. This psp was boughten when they first came out. I can go into system settings and it says I have 302 OE-A but when I hard reset and turn it back on it wont load as if it is bricked.

What I am going to do is revert back to 1.50 and then try and update to 2.71 SE-C then from there I will try and update to 302 OE-A. I was on 2.71 SE B, that is the only thing that I can think of that might have screwed it up.

i want to update to oeb it says :
Place the folder OEB_UPDATE inside /PSP/GAME150 and run it.
do i make the game1.50 folder or can i just put it on my game folder

Why under system setting and info it is in japanese? Sometimes it will say "3.02 OE-A" But other times it says japanese stuff. Help?

the OC mod or some module is causing this change.

Disable them to get rid of the Japanese text.

Took forever to pack the 3.02 eboot.
Just managed to get the Data.dxar.

Ok I understand the tutorial in post 1, but I keep getting stuck at one part. It says to rename the "EBOOT_1.50" to "150.PBP", and I have. But when I run the OE updater (the white text one) it says opening and checking 150.PBP, but then it says "cannot find file" and quits out. Also the 1.50 eboot file you download from QJnet (the link in the tutorial also) are both simply called EBOOT_1.50 and aren't actually noted as a PBP file. Could this be the problem? Thats all I can think of...

Just to verify I have put the needed files in the oeupdmaker which are: "150.PBP" "302.PBP" and it has a "EBOOT.PBP" it came with.

You may not have file extensions turned on.

It's possible. In fact it won't brick your PSP as the program you run before the generic downgrader somehow makes the PSP think it does not have a TA-082 motherboard.

Ok I somehow still got the DATA.DXAR file despite the "cannot open file problem", and it didn't take 3 or so minutes to get it like the manual says, it took about 30 seconds. I tried renaming the files everything that would seemingly work but I guess I'm either stuck or the manual was a bit off when it said it would take about 3 mins. Should I go ahead with my DATA.DXAR file or is it incomplete... I don't wanna brick my psp or something. If it's not right could you please pinpoint me WHERE in the manual I'm misreading.

Ok. I'm doing the leap of faith and upgrading my 1.5 to OE-A and then to OE-B. I'm a little confused still. For the first upgrade I need a ISO folder, GAME folder and a GAME320 folder right? Once I'm at OE-A, I put the update in GAME and launch it. Is there any new file structure that is required like a GAME150 folder?

I don't know how you had it to prepare the DXAR file in 30 seconds, but since I noticed it took someting (well, after a while I quit...) about 25 minutes on mine; I think it depends on the MS you have: For doing the 1.50 subset it was fine in few seconds, but for the 3.02 flashing thing, with my 512MB it took, or was attempting to take, some 25 minutes, while with my 2GB one, it actually took some 3 minutes. Ah, and they were both SONY ones...
Anyway, as soon as I was done with it, it flashed within few seconds (well, maybe 1 minute or so?)

Not of some use, but just my 2c for it...

has anyone got the LCScheatdevice working?

Figured out my problem was a partially corrupted 1.5eboot file. Somehow it got corrupted from the dl to the folder I put it in between the tutorial.

Also people might find this tutorial more direct/simple, plus it has pictures and who doesn't love those :ROFL: : http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=58517

Download the LCS cheatdevice prx from this site: http://www.cheatdevice.com/gta/CheatDevice10dUS.zip or http://www.cheatdevice.com/gta/CheatDevice10dUK.zip (depending on where you got the UMD from).

Put it into the "seplugins" (minus quotes) folder then create a New Text Document called game (or game.txt if you have hidden file extensions off) in the same folder. Open the file and add the following line to the file (minus quotes): ms0:/seplugins/lcscheatdevice.prx (if I am correct) and save the file.

Now activate it in recovery mode (hopefully you know how to get to recovery mode) by selecting Plugins>LCS cheatdevice prx to Enable then reboot. Hopefully when you get to the XMB and you run LCS, the cheat prx will load up and show a menu.

NB. If you have a patched version of GTA LCS (which you haven't I'm guessing) which has the 2.60 update, this won't work.

Or else try disabling the cheatdevice: maybe that will work (hopefully).
