ok i have been making my DXAR for a hour now... it's stuck forever at making the 3.02 pbp :Argh:
is this normal? and is there a solution
thanks in advance
Just put the 1.5 kxploited eboots in the GAME folder if your using the 1.5 kernel or in the GAME150 folder if your using the 3.02 kernel. Check what kernel you're using in the recovery menu (by holding R at startup, then going into configuration.)Zitat:

I'm assuming you have a Sony memory stick? They take forever to make the DATA.DXAR. So theirs nothing to worry about, mine took about 1.5-2 hours to make too. :(Zitat:

o ok thanks a lot i'm so gonna get a sandisk 2 gb because i'm want more space
thanks
What is the reason they take so long to make that DATA.DXAR file ? I have a 2GB sandisk duo pro and it took 2 minutes to do the whole flash - just faster memory ?Zitat:

Thank you so much for this guide! I now have a 3.02 OE-B PSP!
I'm not a noob, just been out of the scene for a while. So naturally the news and of this firmware hit me pretty bad heh.
I have a 1.5 firmware PSP as default. Installed 3.02OE... but some things are throwing me.
When I install the firmware I DONT have a GAME150 OR a GAME320 folder. I just have a PSP/GAME folder. Should I create these or what?
I've checked the FAQ and from what I can tell, I need to put all my homebrew in the GAME folder still. So whats the point in having a 150/320 folder?
Another thing that has me confused is just WHERE to put my backed up PSX games?
Right, you don't need a Game150 or Game320 folder when you install, but you'll need them later. You put ps1 games in the game folder. Game150 is for un-kxploited EBOOTS, game320 is for homebrew using the 3.02 kernel (non yet). Game is just for normal EBOOTs you would use in 1.5. Flash carefully and enjoy!
no, game150 is where you put 1.5 kernel homebrew when you have 3.02 as the default kernel. You can have almost all user mode homebrew it the "game" folder regardless of what kernel you use.Zitat:

my sandisk 2gb took about a minute and 30 seconds.
i read some people were taking a long time. so i was prepared (and shaky) but it was done quick then i close my eyes(....) and downgraded... lols. brand new psp not even a day old and i was ascared.
My official Sony 1 gig (came w/ the 'Giga Pack' last Christmas) took about twenty minutes to do 3.02 OE, and about twenty five to make 2.71 SE-C. I turned it off the first time, lol, I though it froze.
Just a question about the psx emulator (In 3.02OEB) My psp occaisionally beeps(The volume is mute) Is that supposd to happen? (Only happens wen i am playing isos 'Legallly bought of course")
How safe is uninstalling 3.02 OE-B?
I think im having problems with IRShell, im trying to use USBHOST. but it does work on my psp. BUT it does work on my cousins. so i am thinking of reinstalling 3.02 OE-B.
Is there another way of uninstalling? and is the recovery mode files similar to the generic downgrader?
to uninstall first read the README that comes with OE-B it tells u exactly how to uninstal back to 1.5 through recovery mode
I want to reset my flash settings... so I plan on downgrading to 1.5 and reinstalling the 3.02 oea-b
Although.. I'm on a TA-082 mobo.. is the uninstallation method still the same?
Have you already downdated from 2.71 via TA-082 downdater? If so then you will not need to worry as your PSP will act as if it were not a TA-082 (due to the program you run before the generic downdater); i.e. your PSP should be able to run generic downdate without a brick.
Thank you so much..
ok i did everthing and when i started 3.02 oe-a update maker it starts then my psp reboots with in seconds and give me (80010002) i have dev and a 1.5 psp please help. this mite have been on here already but got to page 15 and can read anymore so if anyone can help this would be good . can u use dev on oe-a or oe-b if so what ver of dev
Try up-downgrading via HEND method then try 3.02 OE update maker again.
(HINT: It's best to keep the installation files of 3.02 OE on a 32MB stick - if you have one from the Value Pack and do not use it - if you intend to reflash in future or in case DAX does the same as he did with SE-C where you had to do a clean install)
BTW have you downloaded the right updates and the right packages?
I updated to 3.02 OE-B, and everything runs nice, thank you for this :3
Only thing that is not working for me is those demo's you can download from the PSPstore.
Every time I try to load them they just freeze after the gameboot video.
Tried putting them to the game270 folder but then they don't even show up in the game menu.
The only PRX I have is irsmp3.
Anyone know how to get then to work ?
ok but what is hend methed and am i wasting my time cuz i like dev its a faster way to play my games and i get emu as well @3.03 i have a psx and never play it so if the only reason to do this is to have psx games than i will not do the flash and wait for something better
i wanna upgrade but im not sure anymore
i dont want to brick
The upgrade process is very safe. Dark Alex created the flasher, a similar way the sceUpdaters update the psp. But again. the sceUpdaters to sometimes brick the psp. just becareful :D have fun
It's pretty much just as safe as an official sony update.Zitat:

Somehow I get the Red screen of death when I boot normally.
I can boot to recovery mode holding right trigger.
How do I recover to the normal psp boot screen using recovery? what file do I put in the recovery folder to work?
any help would be great.
Thanks.
easy. I havnt touched a psp in 6 months. Got mine back and did it with no problems at all. If I can do it....anyone can. Thanks DarkAlex for all your hard work.
I completely agree: it's all the n00bs who do not read the READMEs.Zitat:
Zitat von AJB2K3
im srry but in the guide you say GAME320
but in the readme it says GAME302
srry if this has been already asked
I think it should be GAME302 like how it was GAME271 in SE.
Is there any way to get the nethostfs in irshell working with 3.02OE-B????
I've done everything exact to the tee...
However, after the "Manual Reboot" statement, my PSP doesn't load up 3.02... acts semi-bricked..
Only solution is to run recovery back to 1.50.
Any help/ideas?
it should lag for about 5 - 10 seconds.
I reflashed my OE-A firmware(works perfectly. and i flashed my cousins SE-B'' to OEB). i only did it becuase i thought the usb host didnt work :(. but it doesnt seem to be the flash. i think its the hardware now. im gonna make a new thread. or rename my old one .
Took 16 minutes to unpack the 1.50 and 3.02 files creating the DATA.DXAR
Took about 5 minutes to flash to 3.02 OE-A.
Took about 5 seconds to update to 3.02 OE-B :P
Works beautifully, Dark_AleX and all who contributed are geniuses :D
After about 5-10s it shuts off.. and any subsequent power-ons power down after about 10 seconds.Zitat:
Zitat von Sethis
I've recovered back to 1.50 and tried the 3.02 update a few times now.
Any idea whats going on?
ok i think im ready to upgrade
but first, should i unistall devhook..or jus format my whole memory stick and im good 2 go?
I'd format your 'stick.
If you want Devhook, keep a backup of the "dh" folder in the root of your mem stick - you can always download the Devhook loader from Internet.
Thanks so much for this guide. I followed your steps and installed 3.02OE with no problems whatsoever. Magic.
Hi just wanted to to say it looks like a really good guide does anyone know if this will work on a Sony PSP with 1.5 Firmware that has the dreaded IC1003 board.
Hope its a yes and i'll give it a go - thanks:Jump:
