Have you named the 1.50 update file to 150 (or 150.PBP if you have file extensions turned on) and the 3.02 update file to 302 (or 302.PBP)?

    thanks for the quick reply

Yes I have tried the auto installer and everything. I am in version 1.5 but i'm thinking of downgrading to 1.00 to flash from there if that is possible. My extensions are 150.pbp and 302.pbp with it turned on. But still no luck I don't know whats wrong.

Or do a up-downgrade, i.e. upgrade to 2.71 then use generic downgrader back to 1.50 assuming that you don't have a TA-082. Then try installing.

I'd say it's best to create the DXAR file manually cos it's worked for me perfectly.

Try doing the up-downgrade method then try remaking the installation.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this question or not, but first let me say thanks for the great guide in this forum. I went from 1.5 to OE-B without any trouble.

Everything on my PSP seems to be working just fine, except I can't seem to get any of my 1.5 homebrew to load. Before flashing, I moved all of my directories in the GAME folder to my computer, and then after flashing I moved them all back to the PSP, but put them in the GAME150 directory this time.

However, when I try to load them from the XMB, the PSP just reboots.

Is there a setting I need to chage, or perhaps a new way I need to name or install the 1.5 homebrew apps.

Again, sorry in advance for the newbie question.

Did you rename the GAME folder to GAME150 or did you create the folder GAME150 and drag everything from the GAME folder to it? Seems more like the former as you need the GAME folder even if you are not going to use it.

Or try resetting system settings : this method works most of the time.

Have you put the games in the ISO folder in the root of the mem stick?

Try disabling all options in the Advanced configuration menu.

On my PSP I have these folders: ISO in the root, and in the PSP directory I have GAME, GAME150 and GAME302.

I put all of the folders from my old GAME directory (from before I did the upgrade) into the GAME150 directory.

    That's the right idea, right?

Or leave it but put in a UMD every time you run the game: more useful as some games do not work in No-UMD Mode (GTA VCS doesn't work unfortunately)

Ah, so instead of putting the 1.5 games in the Game150 folder, I should just put everything in the GAME folder and then use the recovery console to tell the PSP which kernal to run (either 1.5 or 3.02).

Okay... Ive tried that and I get the same result. It reboots.

Now, for fun I went through all my homebrew, and my pdf reader runs just fine, even with it in the GAME150 folder. But nothing else (like my PMP player) runs in GAME, or GAME150, regardless of which kernal I'm running (1.5 or 3.02).

PS. I tried resetting the system settings too.

If you can access recovery mode, follow these steps:

Download the HEND downgrader for 2.71 from here: http://dax.st/updateflasher.rar

Extract PSP folder to root of mem stick. (ignore SRC folder: that's the source code)

Go to PSP folder then GAME folder. Rename UPDATE folder to "RECOVERY" (must be in capital letters but without quotes).

Download the 1.50 EBOOT from http://dl.qj.net/ or http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php. When downloaded, extract the EBOOT using your favourite compression software (if in a compressed folder) and rename it to UPDATE (or UPDATE.PBP if you have the "Hide file extensions" in Folder Options unchecked).

Go to recovery mode and go to "Run program from \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY\EBOOT. PBP" then agree to the terms.

Hopefully, after the "downgrade" process has finished, you should get the famous "Corrupted settings" BSoD: DO NOT PANIC!!!. Just press O and your PSP will reboot and ask you to add in your personal details.

After that, you shouldn't have the web browser next to game but also when you go into Settings>System Settings>System Information, it should say Version 1.50.

After this, try to reflash 3.02 OE-B

A few minor points before downgrading: provided you have at least 90%, you won't need to plug your PSP into the mains unless you have a sudden battery off or someone takes out your battery, i.e. MAKE SURE THE A/C ADAPTOR IS PLUGGED IN. Don't touch any button until the process has finished. Last point is DON'T WORRY: my downgrade via libTiff exploit was successful.
Unfortunately it's not working either... It reads from the ms for one sec, then stops then repeats etc but there is nothing on the screen... What gives?

Leave it: the flashing means it's downgrading.

Try http://www.psp-haxors.com/ and download the easy installer if my method doesn't work. Then run the exe file and choose to install the RECOVERY folder then put the 1.50 EBOOT renamed to UPDATE.PBP into the folder and put the RECOVERY folder into ms0:\PSP\GAME where ms0 is your PSP mem stick.

Best is to put all 1.50 Homebrew into GAME150 folder and leave the GAME folder for 3.02 "homebrew" and HEN-X (where X is from A-D) homebrew.

Then "downgrade" to 1.50 and then reinstall 3.02 OE.

    BTW it's kernel.

I have upgraded to 2.71 and downgraded to 1.5 many times but still no luck. I also cannot make a DXAR file with the dxarmaker it ALWAYS says that the second eboot is invalid <3> (both 2.71 for se and 3.02 for OE). Therefore I have to use the auto installtion to for the dxar file, but still it says that the dxar is not existing or corrupted....

That is why I was wondering if I could flash from 1.00 or not.

if anyone knows the problem let me know

    thanks

Hmmm - have you tried reformatting your MS ? You're running 3.02OE-B ? I just set the kernel to 1.50 & all the PSX stuff into MS:\PSP\GAME - also check your plugins are compatible with this FW - link is in these forums. Maybe try going into system & reset settings to default ?

    You're definately not 1 of those 'TA-082' motherboards ?
If you have tried both the SE & OE FWs then maybe your MS is 'bad' ?
Your MS might be a 'fake' - I use a 2GB Sandisk memory pro duo with 0 problems so far.
It could also possibly be your internal flash memory on the PSP has error(s) ?

Try formatting your mem stick, zeroflares. Then try the installation process again.

Poursang, just wait; the downgrade process works eventually and make sure you have your adaptor plugged in.

I think it is the FAt16 file system - not very reliable and gets badly fragmented with use - good idea like cyslim5 says to format it before doing the flash

    Hi all :)

I've not picked up my PSP for a while, but having heard of this firmware it's now on charge!

Could someone please tell me if there are any reasons not to upgrade to this, from v1.5? And whether I can downgrade back to v1.5 at a later date?

    Thanks :)

Hi :) I'm currently on V1.5 - a custom version I think, but it's been a while since I changed the firmware on it!

Gdgd. Just download the auto installer package from http://www.psp-haxors.com/ to get to 3.02 OE.

Only disadvantage is useless if you are not using homebrew.
