Have you made a backup of your savedata?
It's better to use the prx.

playing PSP ISO's
Hi guys,
I just have a question. I have a 2.71 FW TA-082 PSP downgraded to 1.5 FW. Hooray a noob with luck. However, I cannot play new games because it says that I need to upgrade software (duh, the FW is 1.5 right now). What do I need to do to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.
THank you

This is probably a double post, but I didn't make it through the 73 pages of this thread to check. I have a 2gb memory stick and a 1gb memory stick. Right now I have my 2gb stick working properly with ISOs and PSX games, etc. but When I try to copy over the folders to my 1gb memory stick, it doesn't load anything under the game menu. Is there any special way to reformat this stick? I'm using 3.02 OE-B, by the way.

Just format the MS through the system settings menu

1st question. Wut is the recovery folder in the rar for? (OE-A.rar) Do i put into ms0:?
2nd Question: Does this custom firmware let u do the things that 3.02is suposed to be able to do? ( Like Camera, PS3 Connectivity etc) Or do u have to wait for some devers to release prxs for them?
3rd Question: How do u flash gameboots, and wallpapers again? Xflash only lets 1 wallpaper be flashed and gameboots smaller than 170ishkb.

Problems loading backed-up ISO's
NOTE: I am only talking about playing my legally bought backed up UMD's.
I'm having real trouble getting my backed up ISO's to work on my newly upgraded PSP.
I started with a v2.71 PSP (without the cursed motherboard). Managed to downgrade it to v1.50. And using the guide on here I've upgraded it to v3.02 OE-B.
I've had no problems doing this at all. Until I try running ISO files.
I put the ISO file onto my memory stick (x:\ISO where X is the memory stick drive). I go to the game section on my PSP and look through the list. The ISO file only appears if I select 'memory stick'. Is this right because on the guide it says the ISO file should appear with the UMD?
So when I select he ISO from the memory stick it comes up with the PSP screen. Then the screen goes black. The mem stick light flashes a couple of times then it crashes out with the error
'The game could not be started'
80020130
Just so you know
I've made sure that when I update from OE-A to OE-B the OEB_UPDATE folder went in X:\GAME150 (Oh and I got so desperate i tried X:\GAME302)
The following settings are on my recovering mode
Skip SCE logo - Disabled
Hide corrupt icons - Disabled
Game folder homebrew - 1.50 kernal
NO-UMD - Disabled
Fake region - Disabled
Free UMD region - Disabled
Advanced config menu
Plain modues - Disabled
Execute BOOT.BIN - Disabled
Use ISOFS driver - Disabled
I've tried uninstalling to v1.50 the reinstalling to v3.02 OE-B
I've tried running the ISO with and without a UMD in the PSP
I've tried changing the homebrew kernal to v3.02
I've tried updating from v1.50 to v3.02 OE-A using the auto install and the manual install
All give the same error
Everything else works fine (internet, UMD disks etc)
Anyone got any ideas?

NO-UMD >>>>>>>>>>> Enabled
Zitat von gazzalfc
also can try putting UMD disk in drive (not all games work with NO-UMD option enabled).
-= Double Post =-
Taken from DA's 3.02OE-A readme:-
Zitat von antonyfl
"Because official SCE updaters don't work in that 1.50 kernel environment (because they need some vsh files not available), i've included with this package a flasher that lets to flash any official update from 1.50-2.71 to your psp.
To use it, copy the files inside inside "flasher for recovery/RECOVERY" in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/ and the official SCE updater renamed as UPDATE.PBP in the same directory, and run the program through the recovery option."
## WHAT I DID:- ##
"Another alternative for recovery is to reflash the own 3.02 OE-A.
To do this, copy the EBOOT.PBP of oeflasher to /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP along with the DATA.DXAR file, and run it through recovery."Geändert von Squibbler (12-29-2006 um 03:48 PM Uhr) Grund: Automerged Doublepost

I don't get the KEYS.BIN file... Sup wit dat? I've read every readme I can find. My WHITE PSP is 3.01 Is that why I don't get the KEYS.BIN? Also, my BLACK PSP W/ 3.02 OE-B won't connect to my PS3, is that normal... been at this for 3 days....starting to loose my grip!!!!

Hey guys,
This problem happened as soon as I installed the 3.02OE-B firmware.
Each of my homebrew game emulators has 2 folders. For example, the GBC emulator (RIN) has 2 folders, one called RIN and one called RIN_~%1. I think the RIN_~%1 folder is the one that stores the actual emulator, and the RIN folder is where I put the roms. ONE of them (for each emulator) is showing up as corrupted, for some reason, but if I get rid of this corrupted folder, the emulators dont run.
I booted in recovery mode and enabled 'Hide corrupted icons' .. but they're still bloody there It doesn't really matter, they're just ugly
I uploaded a vid so you can see what I mean... lol

If its the official SCE firmware then unfortunately no - I think the lowest FW to downgrade from is 2.81 (?).
Zitat von emitrepus
Just wait - the rate these awesome dev's are going it's almost a certainty that higher FW's like yours will be *evevntually* cracked
-= Double Post =-
The KEYS.BIN file is only 1KB or so - is this file unique to each game (?) - you can easily find it if you look round usenet

Guys after trying to install DevHook .52 on 3.02 OE-B I got the BSoD and now my wallpaper doesn't stay. As soon as I put it into Standby the wallpaper is black when I turn it back on. Any ideas on how to fix?

Did you do that devhook option 'flash config files' ? I remember reading DA's readme file and him saying not to do this as it doesn't work under his OE firmwares.

Maybe try System settings - default values ? If not flashed to F1: devhook files are on the MS: - maybe delete all files and reinstall devhook (?) Does DH say anything about incompatibilities or known bugs?

There are some interesting 'flash' options under the recovery menu - advanced.
From DA's 3.02OE-A readme:-
"- Advanced. This setting shouldn't be touched by most users, since they are mainly for debugging purposes.
It lets to flash some NOT critical files to the flash from the directory ms0:/reflash."
Maybe these flashes update only certain areas of the internal flash - that may be 'corrupted' by devhook ? Probably safer not to do them as they look to be a dev item only :) I can't do them as I formatted the MS: after the OEA-B update - doh!

Ah Squibby I fixed it. Simply had to downgrade to 1.5 and back to 3.02 OE-A to fix it. Thanks!

You won't be able to downgrade until at least March at the soonest.

Not exactly sure of your question - 1.5 is the 'golden firmware' - most 'open' to hacking/upgrading/etc. You can only downgrade from a firmware no higher than 2.8 - If you're on 1.5 then you can upgrade to 3.02OE-A in 1 go. If you're on anything > 1.5 but <= 2.7 then go the 2.71 official update - HEN-D - DA's generic downgrader to 1.5 & then to 3.02OE-A.

As far as I can tell All of those should work. I haven't tried any. But there are options for the camera. Plus the whole ps1 emulation thing works. As far as crosstalk between games I would assume it works.
Also thanks squibbler for the help way back when. I don't think it fixed anything but. I went back to 1.5->2.71SE C->3.02 OE A, still same issue, I restarted the psp disabled everything I could (Your idea somewhat) Then exited the recovery menu and this time after I saw the first flash I opened my UMD drive and low and behold "Sony Computer Entertainment" showed up.
I test it cold and still worked, now I can say I am a very happy 3.02 OE B user!:Jump:

Hee hee lots of lovely software to try out :Jump:
Zitat von |Drifter|
Before flashing a new FW I always backup my MS: to PC, charge battery to 100%, plug in ac adapter, uninstall any homebrew stuff, disable any plugins in recovery menu, reset system settings to defaults, turn off all enabled options in recovery menu, format the MS:, study the flash instructions twice, say a prayer, burn some incense & proceed to flash
