Weird, Im installing this update and I ran the updater like the read me said and placed teh 150.pbp and 303.pbp in the right place. It says it spit out the DXAR file just fine.

But when I get to installation, it doesnt install.

It says the DXAR file dont match.

I formatted the stick using the built in PSP formatting thingy and i have 1.50 firmware.


Can anyone help?

Ok I'm running the oeupdmaker and it has now been going for 30 mins, most of the time on extracting and packing 3.03 firmware. Is this normal?

Is this update successful with the new 3.03 downgrader available for 2.81 - 3.03 units? I have a 2.81 that I want to upgrade, downgrade and then upgrade with 303oe-c

I just re-installed 3.02 OE from 1.5 and i still get a BSoD everytime i try to access the browser or system settings. For some reason i cant seem to press O to reset the flash1 when the BSoD shows up.

i wa reading the forums here and i read that a lot of you had this same problem, well this happened for me and i tried 3 times and all the times that
******* BSOD error, then i tried to update to 2.71 and then i used the Update flasher and downgraded to 1.50 again and then the great 3.30OE_C
and it works like it was supposed to ,,,
i think that since youve done a lot of things to get that working why dont you just do what i said? ;) heres the link below:

makes a clean firmware install of youre 1.50, this is not gonna happen unless
youd use the update flasher by D_A nad also the guys who got the BSOD

since DAX has been offfering his upgrades, I have upgraded from 1.5 to every new release up to SE-B" . However, I cannot upgrade to SE-C. Everytime I try, when it starts to make the DAXR file, it comes up with
unkown 2.8 tag. Cannot decrypt reboot.bin.

Any ideas whats wrong?

I went from 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 1.5 -> 3.03 OE-C then ran in to problems to where I could get to the recovery screen but the psp would not work otherwise. I recovered back to 1.5, am I safe to try 3.03 OE-C again? My worry is the text saying remnants of 3.03 stay behind and they recommend to not go back. I'm assuming they said that warning not to go back to the official 3.03 but I don't want my assumption to get me a bricked unit.

The boat is getting crowded because I have the same problem.

I downgraded with Dark Alex's generic downgrader and I have a TA-082 mother board. (Funny story, it took me 3 weeks for reading the read me file to get the nerve up to downgrade. I downgraded and I kept getting a black screen every time I pushed any button. I freaked out. But, then I pushed the little screen button on the front of the psp and everything was fine)

I ran oeupdmaker (when it runs it says something about not being able to open something) and it makes an empty dxar file. Of course, 303oeflasher won't work then.

I see in the homebrew files available for download here that it will say something like tetris for 2.0-2.71 or something like that. Does this mean that the dark alex releases can or cannot run these programs?

There are only a few such "Tiff homebrew programs" and they don't run in 3.03 OE (they did in the older 2.71 SE). Luckily 99% of homebrew is made for 1.50 firmware which can be run..

There are lots of Tetris homebrew versions out there..

It's obvious the required files are not where they are supposed to be since the error displays "Unable to open... "

If you're using Windows Explorer than make sure it's not setup to hide file extensions as you probably have the update eboots named 150.pbp.pbp and 303.pbp.pbp which is wrong!!

The very last lines of the FAQ section indicates as much:

The DXAR maker won't open my EBOOT's!

If you don't have extensions showing, don't add .pbp to the file name. Just have it be 150 and 303.

If the update maker actually does the packing, the dxar file will be found in the PSP\GAME\oeupdatemaker folder.. I'm not sure what else to say..

I don't have the internet at my house and I totally skipped the putting in 150.pbp and 303.pbp in the eoupdmaker file on the read me. I guess I was so excited about pulling off the downgrade, I didn't :rtfm: enough times. So, tonight, I'll give it a go.

you need to go back to 1.50 by the recovery which you can find here:

and then upgrade to 2.71 if you dont have a Ta-082 use the great Update Flasher for 2.71 by Dark_AleX [This downgrader is safer, faster, and a lot easier to use than the previous downgraders.
It also makes a clean firmware install, since this time there is a format of flash0]
the important thing of this is that this downgrader make a clean 1.50, so you may not have problems for BSOD or other problems while youre updateing to 3.03oe_C firmware.... read the read me file and youd know what to do,
when you downgrade to 1.50 FW install the 3.03oe_C and youll see how easy it is, to install that and you shouldnt have any problem...

Ok so all i have to do is download 3.03 oe-c and get all the files and put them in PSP/GAME without renaming anything and then start up my psp and run psp 3.03OE flasher, i try'd this but it only shows me "install 3.03 oe-c fiwemware" and "3.03 update maker" the rest of the files are corrupted
