Did you read the directions? You need to place the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.03 EBOOT as 150.pbp and 303.pbp in the 3.03 Update Maker folder on your memory stick. Then you need to run the update maker. After that, you move the data.dxar that will be output from the Update Maker folder to the 3.03 oe-c Installer folder. After that, you run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

The corrupted icons are nothing to be concerned about.. it's normal for one of the pair of folders to show as corrupted with 1.5 homebrew and these programs. Like TeamOverload says above, you do need a few additional files.

I need urgent help...
I'm trying to install 3.03 OE-C after downgrading my 3.03 PSP, but it seems to be stuck at this line: "Extracting and packing 3.03 firmware."
It's been there for a while now but my MS light is still blinking. I followed the readme exactly, but the readme didn't say anything about taking any UMD out. (I still had my GTA:LCS UMD in after downgrading). Then I come here for help and I read that that's what you need to do.
What can I do now?

ok, i followed steps, i renamed the 3.03 update file to 303.pbp then i renamedthe 1.50 eboot to 150.pbp and placed both files in the updatemaker so then i ended up with 3 files in my updatemaker folder, so then i start up my psp and it shows that the data is coruppted, and it only shows the install 3.03 oe-c but the blue icon as shown in the picture from the first page is corupted? i also noticed there was another step after copying the 2 .pbp files it said

//When asked, overwrite the PSP and the GAME folders.
i dont know what this step is or what it is, maybe this is causing it to corrup?

Restoring default settings should fix your problem. Navigate to Settings -> System Settings -> Restore Default Settings and select yes when prompted. Re-enter all the data (time zone, date, name etc.) and try running your program/game again.

You need to set the kernel to 1.5 kernel. Turn off your psp, and turn it back on while holding the R trigger. Go into configurations and change the Kernel from 3.03 to 1.5. You should be able to run any homebrew ya want!

I'm now a proud owner of a 3.03oe PSP. I was so excited, I had to show my wife. She didn't care.
Thanks for all the help.

timoumi, look a few replies up and you'll find that your problem was recently asked and explained as the person between us (50Percent) can confirm..
Of course, the FAQ section outlines the problem but it seems that section of the tutorial goes unnoticed often.

OK. I got all the stuff to downgrade and then upgrade to 3.03 OE-c... before I proceed... one question:
¿is there any contingency for the case in which the psp bricks?(... if the process stops in the middle or something like that... - I read someone did something like "reflash with recovery" and got it back)
thanks in advance

The recovery can only help if you're actually already on a custom firmware (and only helps partial bricks). If you follow instructions, the chance of bricking isn't any greater than a normal update. The same requirements for an official Sony update are used here.
Zitat von frankpablo
Use the "Home" button. When using the POPS emulator, it first displays a menu with all the settings.

"When it finishes, you will be prompted to manually restart your PSP. You can now delete the update files off of your memory stick.
Turn your PSP off, and turn it back on, holding the 'R' trigger button. [...]"
I have a problem with this thing... do I have to restart my PSP when this is done, THEN turn it off and on again, or can I just turn it off when the flashing is done?
-
01-31-2007, 08:19 AM #1128
If it worked.. it worked.. So after you're prompted and fully turn off the PSP, the firmware is present and intact no matter which "mode" used when powering up again.
Zitat von Bleako
Holding "R" brings up the recovery console used to tweak settings (only works when completely off). Personally, I always turn it on normally first but there's no reason other than my liking to take a peak around.

Ok I followed the instructions exactly as they were and everything worked fine, until I tried to play Metal Gear Portable opps on my psp. Suddenly the screen went black and the console wont even turn on. I can enter recovery mode but thats about it. Is there anything I can do to get my psp working again?

Mine did the same thing. I had to recover it and then reflash the 3.03 oe-c. After I did that all has been fine.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but since installing this, every now and then when I listen to music, turn off the screen (by holding screen button), and put the PSP on "Hold" ... it will randomly shut off after about 5-10 seconds into a song. If it doesn't within that time, it will continue on fine. Happens about 20% of the time.

Would you mind sending me a link? Im searching through the site, but im not very computer literate and I cant find the 1.5 faqs.

A link?? I'm talking about the first post in the thread you're reading now

Anyhow.. I'll hold your hand and outline what I'm talking about:
How do I uninstall 2.71 SE/3.03OE?
- Open up the .rar file for your custom firmware.
- NOTE: The recovery flasher program is missing from the 3.03 OE-A and OE-C download (probably due to so many updates!). Download the original 3.02 OE-A and extract the folder from there.
- Open the download .rar file, and open up the flasher for recovery folder
- Now, extract the RECOVERY folder to X:\PSP\GAME\ (so that it is X:\PSP\GAME\RECOVERY)
- Now, download the 1.5 Update
- Rename the update from EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP.
- Copy it to X:\PSP\GAME\RECOVERY\, there should now be 2 .prx files and 3 .pbp files
- Turn off and turn back on your PSP, holding the 'R' button. Recovery console will come up DO NOT PANIC!
- Scroll to Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP, and press 'X'
- Some purple writing will come up, press 'X'
- You now have a 1.5 PSP
- Open up the .rar file for your custom firmware.
