I'm on 3.02OE-B, and I've followed the instruction, up until running the update maker, it just tells me the game could not be started.

I've done everything to the T, and even started over a few times. Nothing.

Any help?

Could the 2.71 generic downdater be used for the RECOVERY folder to go back to 1.50 if someone bricks a custom firmware?

fixed.... had to downgrade to 1.5 (as advised in this thread) and then format memory stick for it to work.

Alright i down loaded and successfully (at least i think) installed 3.03 oe-c. But now when i attempt to run a program or game on it, it gives me an error that says: "The game could not be started (8002014(8) or (C). I am a noob to all this so bear with me. If anyone could help id greatly appreciate it.

Yes you can install 3.03 OE-C. First you will need to downgrade your PSP to 1.50 however. This requires that you have an unpatched copy of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

if you want to get the DATA.DXAR by runing the update maker you have to be on recovery to 1.5 kernel ... will not worck if you are on 3.03 , you will get an error. I apologise for my english. Regards

Some games (ISO's) and homebrew apps, when I go to exit (HOME > Do you want to exit this game? > YES) It freezes on the Please Wait... screen. I have to take out the battery in order for it to unfreeze.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Some homebrew simply don't like the use of the home button and asks you to use the exit function built into the program's menu. Check the readme of the homebrew.

In any case, if you hold the power switch in the off position long enough it will power off without needing the battery removed.

No, I hold it for a while for it to completely shut down, but it won't.

There's no exit function in game ISO's, though?

Not any more risk than upgrading your PSP with a Sony Firmware. Like it states in the FAQ, it doesn't matter what state your 1.5 PSP is in.. "clean" or not it will format the BIOS and flash the OE install. Take your time and follow the easy instructions.

I'm having a bit of trouble with this step:
- Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are in
2.71 SE, 3.02 OE or 3.03 OE. Copy also the 1.50 and 3.03 updaters with the names 150.PBP and 303.PBP.

I'm not exactly sure that I'm changing the names correctly. When I leave the files as they are (EBOOT.PBP), I see the 3.03 OE-C Update Maker on my memory stick - with one Corrupted Data file under the 3.03 update maker. However, when I change the update names to 150.PBP and 303.PBP, both files are displayed as corrupted. Am I supposed to change the names and place them both in the oeupdmaker?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes. u have to rename the eboot from 1.5 update to 150.pbp. then rename the 3.03 update to 303.pbp. copy both of them and paste in the oeupdmaker. not the oeupdmaker%. i hope this can clear u up.

help! a friend of mines has a psp that i downgraded, then upgraded to 3.03 oec. unfortunately, now we cannot play tekken dark resurrection wifi. his psp says "connection error" or soemthing like that. we narrowed down the variables, and the only difference is that i am at 3.03 oeB. my question is: whats the easiest way to downgrade him to oeB? i tried recovery with the 2.71 generic downgrader, i just got a screen that said "preparing" something /something in red letters, then the psp reboots. can someone please outline the usage of recovery, or another way to downgrade from oeC to oeB? thanks!

you should place em in the oeupdmaker and if youre seeing that corrupted
icon it doesnt matter at all just run the oeupdmaker and youre done.
if youd do it right then the program will make a fill in its directory, then copy that file to the 303oeflasher and then run it and follow the instructions.

1st. that generic downgrader from D_A is only for 271 FW and nothing else go and say Thank God if you dont use it yet!
2nd.you need to go back to 1/50 FW to fix that conection error:
you should download 3.02 oe_A which you can find here:
http://********.com/files/psp/302OE.rar
then you need to copy a folder, name "flasher for recovery" out and to use it, copy the files inside inside "flasher for recovery/RECOVERY" in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/ and the official SCE updater [your 150fw update] renamed as UPDATE.PBP in the same directory, and run the program
through the recovery option. [Restart your 3.02oe_C by holdin R and in the recovery mod select the recovry option "Run program from ...".

Another alternative for recovery is to reflash the own 3.02 OE-C. To do this, copy the EBOOT.PBP of oeflasher to /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP along with the DATA.DXAR file, and run it through recovery.

When I first put firmware 3.03 OE-C on my PSP, all seemed good. I never tried playing a UMD Game, though. I was too busy checking out all the new features instead of the old ones. On trying to play Family Guy (requires 2.71), the PSP logo comes up then it fades to black and does nothing. I tried GTA:LCS and the same happened. The videos + background load in the dashboard and UMD Tool reports UMD and UMD Drive as functional. Anyone know what's wrong?

Here is what I did:
1. Updated to 3.03 FW
2. Followed all the instructions given by the EXCELLENT guide in QJ.NET on the Noobz downgrader and here on the 3.03 OE-C.
3. And, I have a freaking 3.03 OE-C machine.

I want to say Thanks to all them developers for this gracious day, a GREAT DAY, A day to remember.

Ok, i started this upgrader thing from my new 1.5 PSP and its been running on the screen with the white text since 8:25PM and its now 9:30. Its says "Extracting and packing 3.03 firmware..." and has been on this screen for sometime. Is this normal?

Nice work man. Welcome to these forums and the PSP homebrew community. Hope you learn alot and like it here. Check out most mods, VIPS or kool people's (like me) sig for link to rules etc. I recommended you read the "Piracy Policy" first. Its a big issue in the forums.

I'm new to this PSP, so please people help me. I have ordered PSP with version 1.50 and 2GB memory stick pro. It will be in my hands in another 4 days:) Now, my concerns are- what should I do to play all the latest games like Grand theft auto cities on it. I guess answer is Installing 3.03OE-C. correct? So do I need to install 3.03OE to generate DATA.DXAR? or just go ahead with the steps under 'Installing 3.03OE-C' only on the 1st page. And do I need any emulators after that or just copy the game under PSP/GAME folder?
