update i can now see the iso folder after using the recovery menu but when i put a game in i see a thumbnail screen of the gameand when i start the game it just goes blank and i still cant play umdZitat:

Make sure kernel is set to 1.5 in recovery mode if homebrew is installed to the GAME folder. To access recovery mode do a full restart (hold power button up for 10 seconds) then hold R-trigger on restart. Once in recovery menu go down to configuration and set it to 1.5
As for the UMD issue I think a reinstall will fix it. Just install 3.30 OE-A like normal and it should fix it.
I currently have the 3.03 OE-B FW
can I upgrade from here right to 3.30 OE-A or do I have to go back to 3.03OE-A?

For you lot who wonder about downgrading to 1.50 first from 2.71 SE/3.XX OE, there's no need as those firmwares have the 1.50 kernel which means you can upgrade without downgrading.
I'm safe with 3.03 OE-C: now I wait for a Devhook with 3.30 and 3.40 emulation.

Hi, Can someone help me? My son is new to the PSP seen and wants to be able to run homebrew games on his psp. It is a bog standard psp with firmware 3.30 and it did a network update when we managed to connect to the internet the other day.
I have tried to install the 3.30 OE_A firmware version on this thread, but I keep getting the message "The game could not be started" and the error code (8002014C).
I have followed the instructions and downloaded the 1.50 and 3.30 updates and the firmware version from the links and have changed the updates as instructed and put them in the folders as indicated.
The only thing I don't understand is whether I should create a GAME150 folder and if so where doe this folder go? into the psp/game folder. Or should I have a different firmware or version loaded before doing the install?
On the memory stick when I follow the instruction I get a red box with the update arrows and the title 3.30 OE_A Firmware install
Then a broken icon symbol with the title corrupted file
Then a blue box with the title 3.30 OE_A Update Maker (no update arrows in box)
Then another broken icon symbol and the title corrupted file.
I hope this is enough info for someone to help and tell me what a complete plonka I have been and show me the errors of my way. All the best tonictone
So if I am understanding you correctly your son's PSP is actually a firmware 3.30? You updated to that version via Network Update? If this is the case, then you can not install custom firmware at this time. 3.30 OE-A can only be installed from a homebrew compatible firmware, and 3.30 can not run homebrew code at this time.
You can run flash games though. A guide is in my sig.
He brought it with this version on it, I assume it just updated with newer release of that firmware. So is there no way around playing homebrews with this firmware?
That is correct there currently is no exploit to allow it to run homebrew or downgrade. He can run flash game tho like Adiuvo said above.Zitat:

Yes, you can update to 3.30 OE-A from 3.03 OE-A'. Correct, simply make a GAME150 folder and put the files in there.
Another noob question but:
How come I can't save game progresses while I'm playing a game? How do I fix it? Is it common?

I think maybe the link to dark_alex's 3.40 oe is broken. I d/led it and tried it. After I got the new dxar from the oeupmaker using 1.50 and 3.40, I tried flashing it. It went through the 1.50 part of the flasher and then it said it was trying to do 3.30 instead of 3.40. It gave an error and then shut down. Now my PSP wont turn on. It turns on the light but the screen doesn't come on, and if a memory stick is put in, the memory stick light lights up. I think it's bricked. :( It wasn't writing anything it was just checking before it started writing. I tried taking out the battery. No go. I am now trying to let the battery run down. Any other ideas?

I guess it possible you browser had the old guide in cache and the files you download was fro 3.30 OE-A. But if it said 340OE on the .rar it must of been right. But if it says 330 that must of been a dead give away you downloaded the wrong ones.
Other than that I don't see anyway why it would brick, if you can't get to the XMB or recovery mode its done for. (To try and get into recovery mode do a full restart by holding the power button up for 10 seconds then on restart hold down the R-trigger)

Haven't heard of that error before myself. Make sure you using the correct updates and files ect.
If it still does not work try renaming 340.PBP to 340 and 150.PBP to 150
I just tried updating to 3.02 Instead and it still said "Invalid SHA-1" Please try again, then it autorestarts. @[email protected] The motherboard is like the first batch, nothing written on the back, and i'm in firmware 1.5.

Haha, sorry for the poorly worded sentence. I meant I renamed the 3.40 firmware update to 340.PBP and was able to make the dxar file. When I tried running the flasher though it said it was looking for version 3.30 and not 3.40 and then it gave an error. So the flasher itself was looking for the wrong version. Someone before said that I d/led the wrong version of the flasher/dxar builder. I was trying to confirm the file I downloaded. The firmware eboots were correct I am sure of that, I'm not slow enough to do what you thought I did, just slow enough not to write a coherent sentence. :)Zitat:

Got it, I used the DATA.DXAR from the original PSP and instaled 3.40 OE-A on my new PSP, and it worked. Though i'm still wondering, what is SHA-1?
SHA-1 is referring to the checksum of the file. Not sure how the updatemaker works though. It could be referring to the checksum of the updates that are being input or the dxar that is being output.

Only thing I really wanted to mention was that since having cfw 3.03 and up (3.02 was fine), I find it next to impossible to access the Recovery menu whatsoever.. I've been turning it on while holding R, tapping R, you name it etc.. All to no avail..
Any suggestions?
