i have just downloaded 3.40 oe-a from your site and i heard that there was a recovery menu, however, the recovery folder wasn't included in the download, so is it already included in the update or do i have to download it separatly?

Well the recovery menu van be accessed by holding R on boot-up. And if you rename the 3.40 OE-A flasher folder (the one without a % and the DXAR in it) to RECOVERY and place that in the GAME folder, you'll be able to recover the PSP if it's bricked through the recovery menu.Zitat:

Well... first post... so hello all and thanks for creating a site that is helpful.
Now the problem:
I flashed my firmware to 3.40 using the offical guide but everytime I boot into recovery mode and enter configuration I just get a solid light blue screen with no options.... then the psp turns off after 15-20 sec. I can boot fine into 3.40, and select other options from the recovery screen. I'm sure I missed something but I can't figure it out (noob and all). Thanks for any help.

Anyway, boot back into recovery mode and scroll down to "advanced" and enter it. Enable flash1 access and make sure your USB cord is connected. Then delete all the files and folders.
On next startup you'll BSOD, press O or X and your good to go.
I get to step 7 ( in the 3.40 OE-A firmware one) and I boot up the installer
it says "Battery Must be at least 75%" then it just goes back to the main PSP menu...
I have full battery. no umds are in the tray.
Press and hold L and triangle when booting up the program to skip the check. Be sure to have the ac adaptor in though.
Cool, that worked, Thanks very much!
:tup:
Glad you got it to work :)
By any chance, do you have a TA-082?
Honestly, I have no idea. How do I check this?
(3.40 OE-A Fully Installed, no problems by the way.)
You don't then :p
You would know how to check if you did since it affects downgrading.
Haha, well I just downgraded to 1.5 yesterday successfully, and I didn't really check. :p
(Just started PSP modding, I'm a noob!)
Check out the Top Rated Homebrew List if you need some homebrew :)
That Doom looks sweet, since the SNES one runs like crap. (Same with the 64 one.) Thanks for the tip.
Ok, so I forgot to move the DATA.DXAR file over to the flasher.
So, I started the flasher with no data.dxar file, and it's frozen because its checking for the file, which is not there. What should I do???!
Will shutting of the power brick my PSP?
Shouldn't since there is no DXAR file and it hasn't started the flashing.

Thanks for the fast reply.
So, you OK?
Hopefully the installer didn't format flash0 before looking for that file :p
Alright I'm back in the scene. (Not that anyone cared) My PSP just arrived, now I'm going to upgrade. I've done it before so i know what the deal is, but I'm pretty nervous about it. I just spent over $400 getting it with all the extras, so I really don't wanna kill it. Any ways i can be doubly sure it won't screw itself up?
EDIT: It's updating now... Fingers crossed!!! 85%
EDIT2: That last little hurdle before the PSP loads the XMB is what scares the bajheebus outta you. It worked! Thanks again for the awesome guide.
did you just upgraded to 3.40 oe A? or which version? cause i got 3.10oeA installed and took me 2 month to decide to upgrade lol ( i was afraid of bricking) -.-"Zitat:

i bought it from target store and updated to 3.40, but no OE A
Sorry but then your stuck until a downgarder comes out bro.Zitat:

3.10 - 3.40 can't run Homebrew or downgrade.
You must be at 1.5 or a previous OE to install this. Without homebrew, there is no way to, and 3.40 firmware does not allow it, and there is no exploit to allow it. So you can't run it.
You can run flash games though, which are sort of like homebrew. A guide is in my sig.
I'm getting an error telling me that my browser settings are corrupted each time I try to access the web browser. It tells me to press O to reset the settings, but doesn't accept the O command and shuts off. I've tried clearing the browser settings on my memory stick and I'm still getting the error. It's kind of annoying, since I can't do anything.
Anyone have a bugfix for this, or valid browser setting files?
Go to settings menu and do "restore default settings."Zitat:

Noob question:
I'm currently running 3.03OE-C and want to upgrade it to 3.40OE. Do I need to upgrade incrementally or can I just skip all of the firmwares in between? Do I just put the 1.50 and 3.40 files in the ___ file like always or what?
No, 3.40 OE is not an update it is a full insatllation, you can install it from 1.5 , 2.71 SE, 3.02 OE ... etc, no matter which version you have since you have access to 1.5 kernel ;)
For your last question : RTFM .

Thank you very much.
Thanks for the help, it worked great.Zitat:

I have 3.03 oe-c on my psp and everything works great except croc the ps1 game. I want to upgrade to 3.40 oe-a but i want to make sure some things are right. First, I heard that metal slug 6 or 7 from metal slug anthology doesnt work on it is that true(i have the umd)? Second, I heard that the gta cheatdevice for both gta lcs and gta vcs don't work on it, is that true? Third, does 3.40 oe-a have that problem when you have a custom background that was put on using sony's official way and a custom gameboot the sound of the gameboot goes on but the background is shown and not the gameboot when you start a game?
About Metal SLug, i remember Dark_AleX fixed it in 3.10OE-A', but maybe another problem ?

Unable to boot up to 3.40 OE-A after upgrading, was following the steps to uninstall the firmware however when I run the program from the recovery console, receive a message "Battery has to be at least 75%" after which the screen go blank.
Can anyone help?
=============
How do I uninstall DAX custom firmwares?
Scroll to Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP, and press 'X'
=============
Battery has to be at least 75%
?? i don't understand your question??
are you asking us how to make your battery at least 75% ? lol
++ B.
Make sure your battery is atleast 75 % charged or higher...Zitat:
Zitat von slicktan
Also make sure you have populated X:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY with the correct files. View This
Nope, not how to charge battery up to 75%. My battery is okay. Its when I run the program
/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
from the recovery menu, it also show a message at the top of the screen
Battery has to be at least 75%
And when I press X, the whole PSP screen goes blank.
I had remove the battery and connected to the mains, it still show the same message.
How do I recover back to 1.5 after a failed 3.4 upgrade?
IF you are sure to have >=75% and cable plugged in, you can bypass the battery check pressing L+Triangle if i remember right
++ B.
Zitat:
Zitat von Maxi_Jac'
When do you press the L+Triangle? The L is the Left Trigger or the Left Directional button?
L= Left trigger, you press it when you load the recovery flasher. IT will bypass the battery check, but do it at your own risk.
