apocalypse : Yes you can from 1.5 or from any Custom firmware.

By the way, the filename is wrong, 1.50 update has never been released in America.
1.50 update is only Japanese

Indeed it can. Says so in the first post. And it's compatible with 1.50 homebrew so that gives it away.

Make sure you read it all before you start. Even if you have, read it all again to be sure you don't stuff anything up.

Probably. It's only been happening when you upgrade to it from 1.5 though, and only with 3.40OE. I've never had the problem and have been updating since 2.71SE.

Wonder if flash1 corruption is anything to do with having a wallpaper set. I've just done an original American 1.5 which had been running devhook .42 with a wallpaper. After install could not get into customisation (blank light blue screen). Tried to delete contents of flash1 (as per someones posting) but a file in sub-folder THEME was corrupt. Went semi-bricked in the end so ended up going back to 1.5 with recovery and a re-install.

I assume flash1 corruption is caused by the improvements DAX made to his installer, he coded a flash1 installer built in the OE installer.

- Improvements in the flasher. It will now generate also the flash1 directories, and it will
check that the dxar is the correct for this update, so no more bricks by accidentally using
other DATA.DXAR.

Im currently running 3.03oe-c, but would like to upgrade to 3.30 or higher.
I tried installing 3.40oe-a but the message 'game could not be loaded' keeps stopping me running the oedmaker thing, / DXAR file maker.
Anyone got any clue?

Use the recovery package found here: http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=94683
Then use Recovery Mode to run it (it says all the instructions in the guide.)

Right, well i've just upgraded to 3.40- OE to be able to play PSX games. Could someone please link me to a guide or tell me how i do this on my psp with the upgraded firmware, because i have no idea.

I'm currently using 2.71 SE-B'' FW.

I've been trying to use the guide waaaay back at the beginning of this topic.

When I try doing step 5, I run 3.4 OE-A Update Maker, the regular PSP screen appears, stays there for about 5-10 seconds, then my PSP switches off. I'm not sure if this is the BSoD people are talking about or not.

I am very much a PSP noob. It's a miracle I managed to update to 2.71 SE-B''.

If someone can explain to me in simple terms how I can complete stage 5 of the installation properly, I would be very greatful.

try putting the OE Maker in x:/PSP/GAME150 folder

You can always try recovering to 1.50 and running the files there

I misunderstood the GAME150 comment in the original guide, which is why I didn't try it.

Usually deleting the flash1 will fix this. Boot into recovery mode and scroll down and select "advanced". Enable flash1 access and delete all the files and folders.

The above has fixed settings not saving and not being able to access some part's of recovery mode. Among other things.
