Usually deleting the flash1 will fix this. Boot into recovery mode and scroll down and select "advanced". Enable flash1 access and delete all the files and folders.

The above has fixed settings not saving and not being able to access some part's of recovery mode. Among other things.

Yeah, ill try that, but its happened more than once for me. It saves for a while, but every now and then it reverts to older settings...

Btw, can anyone give me the default settings under "advanced" (the ones that say like, use the .bin file in ISO mode, etc.)???

ola fellow psp s. umm, just a bit of help is requried, i just flashed over the new firmware3.40 oe and i threw on an iso, and some homebrew, which all worked. then i got the new 3.40/3.30 XMB pack, and installed a themes using slash n flash, then i got bored of that theme and tryed another one when disaster struck. Somethine was wrong because once the theme finsihed flashing it went to black screen and then turned off. so, i re flashed 3.40 from the recocery module again, and i got back in..so far so good...now my iso's wont boot. everything else works...but no iso's., *MOD EDIT*, and btw they are all cso's. I keep on getting a the error. game could not be started. so i went to the configeration recovery utility to fix it and when i pressed the confirgeration option, then menu just goes blue, and everything disapears:S please help i really want to get my psp up and running agin. Thanks guys

Annoying when the first post from a user is actually against the rules. And it happens so often.

Had a small crisis today. My PC had a heart attack (STOP Errored from some networking thing) while copying a new topmenu to flash0 and somehow did damage to some other essential file. It's all good though, as it reovered flawlessly. I think ill just completely back up my flashes before i do any more modding ^^.

Ummmm...
I got 3.40 OE-A just now.
But some games don't work on my psp now.
Like GTA liberty city, GTA vice city and burnout dominator.
I'm not sure if I did something wrong coz the other games I have do work.
I thought it had to do with:

Does it mean like if I intstall 3.03 OE-C that those games will work?
If thats so please tell me if the firmware will be updated soon so those games also work on the new firmware because I really dont want to install 3.03 OE-C now because I just got 3.40.

The PAL games are in reference to the PS1 games that can be played using the PS1 emulator.

Make sure you disable plugins when loading those games.

Are they UMDs or illegal backups?

Most of use know but its not allowed to be discussed on this forum. Homebrew as in emulators and apps/games made by user/devs is fine to troubleshoot. But downloaded PSP/PSX games (ISO's) is not allowed to troubleshoot. Cause they are copyrighted and suppose to be bought from a store.

Just downgraded a friends psp and brought it to 3.40oe-a in roughly 15 minutes. The guide works great.

Okay, wtf.
All my homebrew is in PSP/GAME, and the kernel is set to 1.50. Every time I try to run a program, the screen goes black as if it was going to load, but instead it turns off.
I have 3.03 OE-A firmware.

If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Bwahaha! Nevermind! I didn't make the ISO folder. It's all working now.

For anyone else with this problem: You need to make three GAME folders in the PSP folder: GAME, GAME150, and GAMExxx. Then make one ISO folder outside the PSP folder.

If you back up your data and then "Format Memory Stick" using PSP option,3.40OE will create all the required folders. It also solves a problem I had where I could not add RSS channels.

First of all, make sure they're in the right folders. PSPRadio (Make sure it's the latest version from http://pspradio.sf.net/) goes in the GAME340 folder.

Pimpstreamer should go in your GAME or GAME340 folder (Delete the one in GAME150)

You also have to remember that Pimpstreamer will only work with WPA on firmware 3.10 OE.

If that all fails, try formatting your memory stick. Might help you out.

Do you know of any other way to stream videos from your pc to your psp that is compatible with 3.40oe?

Yeah i can't be bothered downgrading either ^^.

As for other programs, the only real alternative is the VLC port, which unfortunately is for 1.50 and so doesn't work with WPA, so no. I don't know.

I'm sure it's possible - there are applications that work with WPA on OE firmwares (Read: PSPRadio, Links2, etc) so i don't know. I think some investigation is in order (And we're getting a tad offtopic now)

I hope I can help. I've got Pimpstreamer running under 3.40oe (and PSPradio as well). I do remember that the install did not go as smooth as expected. As I remember, I downloaded the most recent version and installed it, as per instructions, into folder GAME340 but it didn't work. So I connected my psp to the pc and ran the install program which (if I remember correctly) comes with Pimpstreamer and it worked. My working settings are WEP security (with SSID being broadcast by the wireless thingy), a static IP connection (entered using the custom option), and the programs on the PSP are PIMPSTREAMER201SUB & PIMSTREAMER201SUB% in the game folder (I deleted the rest). I think (but dont know) that the solution might be to use a custom IP connection since I have two connections on my PSP (the simple one to get PSPradio working) and I notice that when running Pimpstreamer it shows both connections and the simple connection has an IP address of 0,0,0,0 (or similar). I got all the info I required, to create the connection, by entering IPCONFIG /ALL into a command prompt session (or start/run/CMD) on my PC but changing the last number, in the IP address, to some other unique number between 1 and 256.

Yes, we know that method, but we want to keep our security setting for our network, so that's not the ideal option.

If you were to read the QJ Piracy policy, you'd know we can't help with issues about illegal games - including ISOs, ROMs, etc.

As for the other problems, try recovering to 1.50 and upgrading again. You might want to remake your DATA.DXAR too (Run OEUPDMAKER again)

Actually, I just tried loading iso game to the memstick to see if I will be able to play the game.. but originally... the problem goes as well in my UMD, the buttons acting like on its own.. it executes commands that I didn't press, I can't exit from that game from the home button... directional keys are not working even X & O waaaaaaaahhhhhh :Cry: I hope there are still ways for me to resolve the problem... I don't wanna end up up with a Brick... I tried to recover to 1.50 using the recovery mode, placing kernel to 1.50 the PSP boots but the games (UMD) are on the same status.

No i mean actually downgrade to 1.50 then go back up. You'll ind how to do this in the first posts's FAQ section under "How do I uninstall DAX custom firmwares?" - then just upgrade again. If that fails, then i'd say your PSP is broken anyway.
