This is a discussion on [GUIDE] Save Some Flash0 Space on OE/M33 within the PSP Firmware Discussion forums, part of the PSP Development, Hacks, and Homebrew category; Awesome guide, thanks. :)...
Awesome guide, thanks.
The flash has around 20mb of space. I don't know the exact amount, but it is roughly 20mb.Originally Posted by foxxkat

This space is not to be used to store homebrew & shouldn't be used to store music, images & videos. As doing this could quickly use up the already small amount of free space.
I may be wrong on some points. This info is from what I've read in other posts.
oic.. then it's always good to free up some space for flash i guess to avoid danger of brick..
what do i need to do exactly? the guide says replace xxx with ltn0.pgf
where do i find this ltn0.pgf and how to 'replace'?
its 32 mbOriginally Posted by Syphon

seems like syphon is close. it can't be much more than 20.0MB.
Spoiler for My messed up PSP:
What will happen if I delete gb3s1518.bwfon without replace it with lnt0.pgf?
yea i'm interested to know also whether can we do that?Originally Posted by Crushader
if not, how to exactly "replace with with ltn0.pgf"
where to get ltn0.pgf?
BSOD FOREVER.Originally Posted by Crushader
isnt it a font file ??ltn0.pgf
yes it is a font file.
Spoiler for My messed up PSP:
this question still stands and im very curious what the answer is :)If i would flash the 01-12.bmp does it have to be 60x34 or can i also use 300x170?
Ive got 60x34 now. but the grafics kinda suck...
no you can't.
The PSP is going to expect a 60*34 monthly wallpaper in the 3.x firmwares.
Otherwise its going to read the file at a wrong place and then its going to give you white or no monthly background.

is that mean i can replaced it with any font file itn0.pgf ??gb3s1518.bwfon (1,000 KB) located in flash0:/font can be replaced with a ltn0.pgf
PSPFiler is pissing me the hell off...
I added back the files i removed for the Video option but no changes happend, the Video funtion still aint working:Argh: ..........Garbage!
i've googled for ltn0.pgf and it isn't helpful.. still dont know how to replace nor how to get it.
ltn0.pgf is already on your psp. It's in font folder under flash0:/Originally Posted by foxxkat
i cee now ..
ok n' how to replaced it ?? should i rename it to gb3s1518.bwfon or what ?
i see i see.... dang.. now it becomes so clear :/
the guide says "replace" gb3s1518.bwfon with ltn0.pgf right? then i think u copy the ltn0.pgf over to replace that big file. make sense?
coz if u rename gb3s1518.bwfon, the size stays the same hence u're not saving flash space.
BUT, let's hear from veterans. correct me if i'm wrong.
ur half right, if u just copy ltn0.pgf over ur going to change the font of the entire psp, so u rename the "ltn0.pgf" file to gb3s1518.bwfon and then u have to delete the orginal gb3s1518.bwfon of the flash0 then u past the ltn0.pgf file now named gb3s1518.bwfon to the font folder. U also do the same with any other file u replace with a ltn0.pgf file. Also make sure to delete the orginal gb3s1518.bwfon file before u copy the renamed ltn0.pgf file to the folder.Originally Posted by foxxkat

so if the flash space is 32 megabytes and i only use the the memory stick for homebrew which is 2 gigs then i eally dont have to worry about low space because i never toucched that only when i actually flashed from 1.5 to 3.03 oe-b. am i right or am i missing something?
ppl need flash space to flash custom fonts , gameboots , bootsound etc ..Originally Posted by midnitdragoon
what is a gameboot? is that when i have a playstation game on the memory stick and i click on it to play?
edit-nvm i googled and found that a game boot is when the psp boots a umd screen and you see that boring screen.
Cant you use recovery mode with USB access to flash instead of using PSPfiler?
Ive never used 3.03 OE-C or anything so please dont flame me for asking this.
Yes, you can, in fact, it's easier and much more convenient.Originally Posted by paperless
is it still safe to delete the file gb3s1518.bwfon in 3.10 oe? has anyone tried?
**nevermind** it still works

You can just replace the files with Blank text files, just rename as needed, saves more space than replacing with other files
i only deleted the jpn0 file and saved 1.5mb that is more than enough extra space in flash for me......i just renamed a 41kb file to jpn0 and everything works great.....nice guide anyway......
how do i know how many megabytes left my flash has?
