..Soo is this like a notepad thing, or...what?
T9 is a style in which you use only one keystroke for each letter of a word, and the most common word is selected of the possible combinations of numbers. You may, however, press 0 in order to cycle through your available options in case the word is not desired.
For example, 937 would make 'yes', but you could also cycle to 'yep'.

so its basically like the PSP OSK? Its a nice concept but since its flash you can't really save anything.Originally Posted by sconer
Woah I didn't really want this to get on the announcements at such an early beta hahaha. Mohaas05 yea pretty much, but I do have ways to save documents. I'm also thinking of converting this to a homebrew, because I could easily convert my code to C, but I still don't see much need since flash does the job just fine.
I'm still trying to work out bugs for the next version, which will be up soon. Then the complete word bank will be available without flaw.

Nice, I love the design.
But as for the "T9 Jotter - The fastest way to type on your PSP!", its not really the fastest, I have a Targus iR Keyboard. And boy, can I tell you that is a nice piece of hardware. May I say its the nicest PSP Accessory that I have purchased... YES!
Prestige 7 On COD4
If you have sufficient programming skill, you can make a replacement OSK plugin that exports the same functions as the sony OSK. Hence it will globally work in all applications.
If you dont know how to do it, then since you've done the main part i.e. the T9 logic, why dont you ask one of the pro coders to help you turn it into a replacement OSK plugin.
*EDIT* not completely shut down yet. the last method i'm looking into is..well read down.

yea i've been trying to get that to work for a bit now, the only problem is retrieving the cookie after i've created it.Originally Posted by Da_MerV
*EDIT: T9 Jotter 0.2 is complete, but has been delayed. I got back my PSP, and after I tested this, the reported pages not displaying were because there is not enough memory. This was expected since I have two giant arrays filled with the words and other necessary information. I am looking into different methods and will try to release 0.2 as soon as possible.

Just want to say that I like it :)
It is the cheapest fastest way of typing, the keyboard costs money....
Keep it up, I REALLY want it once its finetuned ^^
0.2 is complete but it's delayed because i've gotten back my psp and tested the application, only to discover that the psp runs out of memory because the word array is so large. i'm looking into ways of externally importing a text file of the word list because it takes too long to publish the list as a string. unfortunately on the psp i cannot get flash to successfully load a txt or xml. perhaps i will just add it as another html variable..

Can the mods please change my title to PSP9 0.5? Thanks. It'd also be nice if I didn't have such a small upload limit so I could host my files here :)
PSP9 (title changed b/c t9 is copyright) 0.5 PC ONLY is now out. You're probably asking why I'm releasing this if it doesn't work on the PSP. Simply put, I just want you to know I'm still working on the project and making progress.
0.5 is flawless and I've nailed the save feature but unfortunately you can't load your documents until 0.6! You may edit the list/create your own in order to add or remove words to/from the word bank.
I forgot to give credit to T9 for their word bank as well!
Yes, I have gotten it to work on the PSP with a smaller word bank (only words up to 5-6 letters long), but it will only function with words up to maybe 2 letters long without freezing. This wont be a problem in the future, I will either have the script set starting points where to search for a word so it saves time, or I will have multiple files with word banks categorized by their starting characteristic and total number of characteristics in the word.
I have also read the comments from a Dutch community and I created the editable word bank feature just for you guys! Thanks for all your feedback. I will also release my source code once this is finished but I've encrypted the swf until then, sorry!

Keep up the good work ^^
PS. Dutch people rule, if they can talk fluent english (like me )

Thanks for the info Chris, however I'm quite aware of all of these limitations, as I have ran into them myself. I use the text documents only because it allows the user to customize their word bank. I also replace my variables/loadvars rather then attempt to unload them, and this method has been working just fine.
dude, just want to let you know that you're doing a great job on this..keep up the good work....ill definitely recommend this to many people using the psp for general chatting and the likes :)
Hey, I haven't been able to work on this for quite a while now that I just got back from Korea and Hawaii. I've taken on quite a few other projects as well, but thanks for the reply I'll be sure to get back on it soon.
Hey everyone, I've been out of the scene for quite a long time, but I thought I'd let you all know that I'm starting back up on this project from scratch, but no longer in flash!

Sounds great. Can't wait to try it out.
through extropolar physics and things beyond your comprehension, it might be possible for me to not unconfuse you by speaking above you, below you and using words that i made up completely off the top of my head.
T9 as in the cellphone function to complete words? awesome :o
This replaces the old keyboard from the PSP?
