Hello fellow developers!
I've decided to create a thread about PSP controls compatibility. Please add comments only relating to the subject in order to help out newbies with Flash / PSP development.
1. Key controls:
left arrow = 37 (Key.LEFT)2. Joystick controls:
up arrow = 38 (Key.UP)
right arrow = 39 (Key.RIGHT)
down arrow = 40 (Key.DOWN)
X button = Left mouse click
O button, Select button, Home button = 27 (Key.ESCAPE)
(works with a Key.addListener()... "on release" only. It needs to be double tapped in order to work. ex: Select - XMB menu appears - Select - Goes back to the Internet Browser and Flash reconises the second release of Select as the "on release")
The mouse movement works great, you can detect _xmouse and _ymouse no problem. The mouse roll in/out, drag in/out works. The only thing that dosn't work to my knowledge is the Mouse.hide() / Mouse.show(). Therefore if your thinking of using the joystick, the cursor will always be present on screen.
Make sure your canvas has a width: 480 px, height: 272 px, at 24 fps framerate. The .swf should be published as a Flash Player 6. For better framerate, set your Audio Output ("Stream" and "Event") to: ADPCM, 22KHZ, 4bit mono and the JPG Quality to "60".
Thats all the time I have for now, but this post will be updated as new things are discovered. If anyone wants general flash help (since its pretty much the same for PSP / PC), check out www.flashkit.com. Do what you can, don't be scared of reading help files, thats how you learn. Just don't quit.
