Is there a way to fake my firmware, since I cannot upgrade past 3.40 OE-A (my psp's flash memory is dead, so I am using time machine.)
I just bought god of war chains of olympus, and I need at least 3.52. Thing is I bought it new so I can't return it, nor do I want to.
You can run 4.01m33 from the memory stick using DDCv7.
Yeah to save the hassle of going into DCv7 just get jasonUK's elf menu. Use the "resurrection.elf" change the extension to .prx and replace the "resurrection.prx" in the TM/DC7/kd folder. That way it will boot to 4.01m33 when you use the DCv7 ipl.bin. Try this in the config.txt :
NOTHING = "/TM/DC7/ipl.bin";
... How is that useful? He's trying to run the firmware, not run an ELF menu...
Using the resurrection.elf as a prx leads to 4.01 M33-2 to be loaded from the memory stick.
@FreePlay: Is that Jon Tickle on your dp?
no, that's me. goddammit.
And... what are you talking about "using the resurrection.elf as a prx"? It is a PRX.
p.s. jon tickle can lick my taint. I'm tired of UK people thinking I'm him.
Just try it and you will see what i mean. For some reason the elf menu resurrection.elf when renamed to resurrection.prx boots the "Test 4.01m33" option of DC7 when you load the TM/DC7/ipl.bin.

And always having a pandora battery in means the OP problem is solved without having to mess on loading up the DC7 menu.
PS if you aren't jon tickle you must be his grumpy twin or something :p
