Why would Sony (or any other parties that make games for PSP) make games that require new FW for the PSP? I mean, unless it was for Wi-Fi purposes, or because the game uses 2.00 web browser option and/or the theme option to run.
Wouldn't it make more sense that Sony, or anyone, release their games that work on ANY firmware? There are only a few differences in the firmware, such as removing homebrew from 1.50 users, and adding web browser + wallpaper theme support. I don't see why new games would need these options to run.
I already know about the firmware changer that makes your 1.50 think it's 2.00 and vice versa (2.00 to make it think it's 1.00 for the downgrader), or some other number, but still I don't see a point of new games needing new PSP FW it as of yet.
IMO, I think life would be more easier if we did not need a FW changer (for 1.50, even though one is needed for 2.00 to downgrade to 1.50), and that Sony would make ALL their games compatable with ALL PSP FW versions, then we wouldn't have to worry about upgrading our PSP's without having to deal with FW changers every time. This way, we would still be able to play homebrew, & new games. :)
But sadly as things are turning out, I guess all of these things needed to be done for their own special purposes.
