even if GTA doesn't require it, it's only a matter of time, isn't it?
True. but let's hope not at least for GTA:LCS :icon_cool
I'm an Aussie and I happen to be in Canada for the month so lucky me I got my copy today!
Such a friggan awsome game!
I honestly want the custom soundtracks for more talk radio I can't get enough of it and now that podcasts are the "great new thing" there's lots of great ones.
Can't wait to listen to Nobody Likes Onions while i cruise the streets! =3
For you guys who don't know what they are check out www.podcastalley.com no I don't work for them I just think it's a good idea for guys like me who love talk radio.
I hope the next shipments of GTA:LCS require 2.1+.
I live in the US so I don't have to worry about this, but you guys in Australia and Europe could be effed (I'm reffering to the 2.01 update that may be on GTA:LCS)... OR are you? Right now I have a 1.5 PSP and am currently renting Madden 06. Now, Madden 06 requires 1.52, BUT, if I use the disk swap, I can pop in any UMD, take it out, and play some Madden. Unfortunatly for GTA fans on the other side of the world you MAY be screwed. Why does Madden 06 work on 1.5, even though Madden needs 1.52 to work? Simple, because all the important files in 1.5 haven't changed in 1.52, just some security fixes to block homebrew (and some UMD Audio, I think). Remember that 2.01 is just a quick fix for 2.0, nothing was changed except the things that allowed for the TIFF Exploit. So, using the Swap Disk method, you should, be able to play a game that requires 2.01 -- even if you have 2.0. Furthermore, some games that require 2.5 (in the future) should be able to run on 2.0 also. (This is a big MAYBE, but:) The only stuff changed was the Location Free Player... so, since most (or all) games won't have any interaction with the LFP we might be good. Although the 2.5 has heightened version security, so Sony may have us at 2.5, who knows? I'm not guaranting that games that require 2.01 will be able to play on a 2.0, but hey, I put my two cents in, and this rant makes sense to me. Let me apoligize in advance for the long post, I just want to ease those who are scared at the moment.
@Esta you could be onto something there, because GTA:LCS only needed v2.00 to run because of the audio or whatever maybe it is possible to do the swapping of the UMD Discs with only v2.00 installed, very intriguing, well for now we do not know anything just a matter of time untill it comes out in Australia, just hope my EBGames got the US versions so i can get it friday :( if not i might cancel my pre-order and grab a copy off e-bay that way i won't have to worry about the v2.01 upgrade.
Only time will tell...
