GTA Custom Songs with track names. (If made from a custom cd or image)
So you finally got Rockstars custom tracks program and loaded up your memory stick with songs for GTA. If you got all your songs from custom burned cd's or you whipped up an image using nero, when you enter vehicles you might ask yourself:
"Hey! when my songs play in GTA none of them have thier proper track or band names, what gives??"
Well if you imported your songs from a custom cd or image file, when they play in GTA they will have generic track names "01 Track01 - Custom - Custom Tracks" etc. (or whatever you named your cd/artist in RCT program). To have an actual song/band name show up is easy to do.
#1. Connect your psp to your pc and put it into USB mode. Go into your memory stick and locate your SaveData folder (/psp/savedata). Inside should be a folder called ULUS10041CUSTOMTRACKS (or something close to that).
#2. Open that up and you will see all your custom songs. They will all have names like "01 Track01 - Custom - Custom Tracks.gta" etc. All you do is rename the file how you like but leave the .gta extention.
Say your "01 Track01 - Custom - Custom Tracks.gta" is actually
"Polka greatest hits - Polka Night.. hehe :D
All you would do is rename it "01 - Polka Greatest Hits - Polka Night.gta"
If your looking at your list of tracks in the ULUS10041CUSTOMTRACKS folder and can't tell what track belongs to what song, just check the order of the songs that you originally ripped the music from. Whether that was from a burned cd or an image you made with nero that you loaded up with daemon tools.
I think this only works if you burned non .cda disk as a normal music cd loses the track names anyway. I got my music from a cd filled with mp3's so they still had the song names etc.
Basically you can name it however you want. It has no formatting requirements. You could name the "01 Track01 - Custom - Custom Tracks.gta" to "song1.gta" or "Custom Tune1.gta" etc. It can have spaces or whatever you like as long as you keep the .gta at the end. After that your rockin! :dj:
Note: I can't seem to find out how to get songs to play in a certain order. It just plays randomly for me. (even putting 01, 02, 03 etc before song names has no effect on what song is played after each other. Maybe somone else knows?
