i cant beleive no one notice this but there are TWO different pictures in the back of the cover I have a unpatched version and it came with the background with toni on the bike next to the plane and the other pics, i hope this helps alot

the pic on the right is the patched one if you look at the copyright dates if it says 2005 its unpatched if it says 2006 its patched easy as that to figure it out.

The pic on the left IS unpatched! And the 2006 is Patched.

BTW on the top back it has a description of liberty city on the unpatched and on the patched it says "ROCKSTAR GAMES PRESENTS A ROCKSTAR LEEDS GAME" and then the descripton of liberty city after that

ROFL, it seems like they would have picked up on those pictures before they would have picked up on a difference of a couple of serial code numbers.

EDIT: Also note the UMD says 010050 on it and has the 2.00 firmware update on it.

and the umds that are said to be dark brown and are patched is false i have the a dark brown umd with the gun on it and its 2.0 not patched(got it on release date).

Thanks QJ.net for fixing the front page now it has better information. Hope stuff ppl can bring to the store when they go to buy. Just hope the rumor i heard from my friend isn't true. That the unpatched version is gonna be taken off the shelves at EB games. Don't Quote me Im not even sure if its real. If anyone has heard anything speak now bc this could be a way sony is trying to prevent ppl from downgrading.

in that little guide, it says that the one with the gun on the UMD is patched, but I hae it and I have succecfully used the eloader...

the usa version patch and not patch both contain the gun its just the USA game logo cyinide was dumb he put a europe verion next toa USA version to show compairison

Are all of the plain-black-background European UMDs unpatched?

(The one that was listed as unpatched and put next to the US UMD in that one picture)

The question I had in the above post still stands. However, I can verify that identifying an unpatched version by the pictures on the back IS NOT RELIABLE.

Check this out. The game in my PSP came straight from that case, and I bought the game, new and sealed, from Best Buy. It's a 10041.

Sorry about the image being rather large; I wanted to make sure that the PSP screen was readable.

This kinda sucks

That's sort of wrong..I mean, it says 2005 on it, when the patch wasn't brought in until 2006. You sure you just don't have a different UMD in there than what came with it? Stuff happens.

I got my GTA LCS before the Cheat Device was even created. December 25th, just last year. Christmas, that's when I got my PSP.

I'm positive it's the UMD from that package. I only have one copy of the game, and when I bought it, it was sealed in plastic. I can show clearer pictures of the 2005 later if you'd like; I'm at work at the moment.

I'm supposing that older cases were being used at whatever factory packaged this game, and that's how this ended up in an '05 case, maybe.

Yeah, that's what I mean. That coulda' happened. But like said, check the UMD. You don't have to upload new pics, I could see the 2005 pretty good. Thanks though.

Very worth indeed, for who never bought an UMD i gave my 65 euros for it with no hesitation, unblocked my 2.01´s and worth just for that.

i wouldnt rely on this. there have been several reports of patched GTA's that look EXACTLY like the unpatched version jim420 is showing.

It has the "2005", the box DOESN'T have the "circled 18 with red background", the UMD has it (and DOESN't have the gun).
