I've had this problem ever since I got my PSP, and it hasn't seem to have ever gone away. My computer and Wii can pick up the wireless signal from my Linksys, but my PSP does not connect to it. When I try to connect, I get the error:
The father says it's a problem with the PSP picking up the IP Stack. We've tinkered around with it and haven't come to any conclusions yet, though. Any advice?
PS: It is WEP, and I have put in the right WEP key as well. Remember, it worked on my Wii.
First of all, make sure the SSID is 100% correct. Then make sure you have the correct encryption selected (in your case WEP).
Try both the WEP Key, and the WEP Passphrase. Same thing happened to me...
Key 1: 0d33gbir3g5hf6
The SSID is correct. I'll look into that thing with the Passphrase.
Edit: Nope, doesn't work.
Do you have Wireless B and G running, and if so, make sure that the speed is on auto.
Wireless B and G is enabled. Speed is on auto. No dice still though.
Hmmmm... This has me stumped... Sometimes if the wireless network is too slow on Megabytes Per Sec, the PSP can't connect...
I doubt this is the reason, but maybe you should create a static IP to your PSP...
I am outta tricks after that...
Well, the only IPs that are allowed to work from our router are ones that are specifically configured, like x.x.y.z.
I've configured mine to be like that, yet the result is still the same. I'm going to try different IPs and see how that works.
can ur psp connect to other wirless networks?
So you have the SSID set as "linksys"?
I had this problem once. I was on a low firmware and when I upgraded to a newer one it fixed it. This probably wont work in your case but it was the same error message.
