Have any of you have seen this before?
When I switch my PSP on, the green light shows and then launches the XMB. But after 3 seconds or so with the menu accessible, it shuts itself off. After this you need to take the battery out, switch it on, then put it back in to get it to switch on, but each time you get the same thing happens.
I've tried accessing the recovery menu (power on with right button) but even this has the same problem, loads the menu then shuts down.
I'm running 3.40 OE-A with no custom themes (never used them), no plugins, and not much else. Have been running 3.40 OE-A successfully since it was first released, so it's not because I've just flashed the firmware.
This started happening after putting the PSP into hibernate during a game one night. Came to continue with the game next day and this is the result.
Have tried allsorts to get it going again. Have got fully charged batteries (Sony original and store bought unknown origin). Tried both batteries, with the power lead but no batteries, power lead with batteries, WLAN on and off, switching on with various buttons pressed (many combinations), MEM Pro Duo in and out, but no success.
This doesn't seem like a firmware (ie bricking) problem to me (have already considered creating a Pandora battery as a last resort). Feels more like hardware but before I take it apart, I thought I'd ask the experts to see if this had been reported before and what any potential fixes may be.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
PS. As it's my first post, "Hi all" by the way.
