well i had this psp that has a screw up analog stick that move out of control and I got a analog stick i can replace but the problem is that I'm afraid that I might break something and the screws are weird. So is like a way I could do this or anyone(like a service) can help me with the replacement analog stick I brought. If anyone knows please reply bye
replacing a analoge stick way too simple. Why would you search for someone else to do?
You only have to get off the faceplate and then the analoge stick and replace it.
I agree, its very easy. All you have to do is use a phillips #000 screwdriver and underscrew 5 screws. Only the faceplate will come off, you won't have to mess with anything vital.
If you're still unsure I'd suggest looking on craigslist in your local area for someone who mods psp's.
You will all so need to get a can of air to blow off the actuall psp's glass screen that's under the face plate. Other wise dust Will get on there and be a pain in the ass once you put the face plate back on.
Wash your hands very well and do not touch or even use a cleaning cloth on the psp's glass screen you will end up with smudge marks and micro scratches.
Have the psp open for as little time as possible, so plan out your strategy before you even open the psp.
Get a small glass to hold the screws you take out.
And finally when you screw down the analog nub just get it hand tight don't over do tightening it down.
you could try (as a last resort before partially disassembling your PSP) a PSP plugin called "JoySens" which will allow you to re-calibrate your analog nub.. you can change the minimum/maximum range, the sensitivity, the "dead" zone, the movement delay, as well as other things... and you can also swap the analog functions with the D-pad if it doesnt help enough to fix it.
just an idea, its might not fix it 100% but i use it for my dodgy analog nub and it suits me fine.. only the occasional glitch here and there.
if you installed a new faceplate that could be the problem. if not then try tightening the fp before going into it. only buy camy fp others dont tighten well.
