alright my bro psp screen has been broken for a year, now i want to fix it
the problem is, originally when the psp was turned on the lcd showed part of the xmp with a big green object on the other side and when you shook the psp the arrangment would change the screen could be filled with pixels of different colours, now once its turn on, its just black with a crack from the bottom going up to both corners at the top.
the pixels have near totally gone, but if you look closely you can see a very small line of pixels in the middle crack
the plastic which covers the screen isnt actually crack
i think i would need a lcd and a backlight, you can still hear the psp going through the xmb so its not broken
i doubt theres any chance i could be repaired without a replacement, thing is it just fell from a half meter high, and i know my psps is alot more rugid than that
anyway could someone other a shop to buy the screen, btw it has to get here before thursday, thanks alot
oh yeah its a psp 1003
The LCD is done for. Do a search on ebay for PSP 1000 LCD Screen. There's plenty of people selling them still. ;)

There may be a bigger problem if the psp has had a cracked lcd in the psp for over a year. The fluid inside the liquid crystal display or lcd is very corrosive to the motherboard. If any of that fluid leaked out over time (would explain why it's just a black screen) it can damage the motherboard. Check the mobo for brown or black spots.(where it should be green) you can get a new lcd from Dealextreme has them for slim and phat. You can get a oem lcd and if you need a mobo you can get them in the auctions section of acidmods.com's forum.

I would if your going to pay $40 for a screen, you'll need to open it up to replace the screen if there's no damage any way.

alright managed to grab hold of another psp which as been through a few tough days but the screen is alright
problem stripped screw, at the memory stick side, down the tenny tiny hole
anyway ways to combat this,
my uncles a junior/builder so im hoping hell have something for it, put is pissed drunk at the moment :)
thanks, im sure theres such a thing as an electromagnet screwdriver, with a car battery attached to the end of it, somewhere
Go to radio shack (or your local electronic/hardware/hobby store) And get a hold of a jewelers screwdriver set with a 00 or 0 philips in it. Then just be careful. That is the screwdriver that matchs the screws on the psp.
