Holes on the front side
I own a PSP phat since 3 years now and I've always asked myself what the holes are there for.
I'm serious, I have no clue why there are those two little holes on the front side since the speaker holes are on the bottom :(
I believe it's just decoration
so why did sony change the position of them in the psp 2000?
Maybe they were supposed to be the holes for the speakers (I assume this seeing that the holes have the same size and shape)
Because they are now the speakers? In the PSP-1000 the two holes had nothing behind them, no speaker, no speaker port - it was just nothing if I recall

Maybe they allowed more sound and heat to get out.(not that either is really a problem) More likely is that it was left over from an early design to put more speakers in, and for cost saving, space, or weight reasons they decided not to add them. And perhaps after stamping out a few hundred face plates decided just to leave the holes there. (just speculation)
