So, just bought an PSP with a broken screen, changed the screen to a working one, OFW-> 3.71 M33-2(w/pandora), tried to update to 5.00 m33-6 the normal way, works for a while, bricked, unbricked w/pandora, couldn't update to 5.00 m33-6 the normal way(went beyond the 84% all the way to 99%, then dropped back to 84% and kept doing that over and over), bricked again because of that, unbricked, flashed using hellcat's recovery flasher 1.50 to 5.00 m33-4, and now:
Keeps freezing while just browsing around in the XMB, while pressing 2 buttons simultaneously in a game(randomly), right when it boots into xmb(while the sony text is still there), when starting a game, when moving around in recovery menu, etc etc... I've tryed 'Format flash1 and reset settings', helped me just once for about 15 mins of gameplay, then started doing it again. Help people, this is just f*cked up >,<. E: Tried to install 5.02 GEN-A, the same thing with it, bricked again... >,< Last edited by Bluelord; 04-26-2009 at 04:26 AM.. |

Flashed it with 3.80 M33-2 I think(not sure), doesn't seem to be crashing anymore, crashed it by going into photo's while the MMS was still inside

Gonna try running some homebrew's, I'll report back soon.-=Double Post Merge =- Flashed it with 3.80 M33-2 I think(not sure), doesn't seem to be crashing anymore, crashed it by going into photo's while the MMS was still inside . try this
I found this it maybe your problem credit goes to asddasit at pspbrew [Tutorial]Nand recovery (FATPSP)[Tutorial] Recover corrupt nand FATPSP (PSP wont format flash). (No second psp needed) This is a legal way for you to fix your nand so that you can debrick/update your FATPSP. Its so simple if you don't have a debrick-nand recovery battery software, the one thing you will need to have is a second PSP to make a pandora battery application that can be used to recover backed up nand. Now if you already have a application that can we can move on. WARNING! This can and will if you do not follow carefully brick your PSP,neither me or PSPbrew or its staff can say for sure is this will work for you.So with that said we can in no way be held responsible for your use of this tutorial or the out come, you go on at your own risk.WARNING! So here is it: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ 1.Downloads. The only file you will need for this once you have made a pandora application that can install nand, is the nand backup This is a legal copy because all the illegal files have been removed MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ 2.Connecting to the PC First using a card reader or working PSP connect the PSP memory stick to your pc so that you can transfer the nand back up to it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ 3.Moving the file Now unzipp the nand download file. then take the nand backup "clean_part_fatpsp.fl ash" and move it to the root of th memory stick. Now rename it ,you can either rename is "nand-backup.bin" or "nand-dump.bin" or "nandimage.flash",the different recovery applications use different names, but for now just pick one you can always change it if it doesn't work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ 4.this is the last step. Now on the bricked PSP use you battery and magic stick to load the recovery application. Now simple chose to recover nand it will say that it is doing so. Now after a while it will prompted you or just turn off,it is now done. From here you can debrick /upgrade to a custom firmware. Now to boot the PSP you may have to use a normal battery and not just start it off the AC power. For some reason if you dont sometimes the PSP will jsutre-corrupt the nand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ See wasnt that easy, and welcome back to the world of homebrew.( I do strongly suggest that you try to recover back to 1.5 as custom firmware might have problems Please also note that since some of your PSPs nand may be too corrupt of some keys for hardware may be wrong that there might be a few errors with the way the PSP runs) also try running a key cleaner |

Gonna try that, but forgot to mention, everytime I shut it down, it wont shut down immidiately, green light keeps on blinking for about 15 secs before it shuts down. :/
E: Just checked with KeyCleaner, all the keys are correct, so it ain't IDStorage. E2:So, I dumped my own nand and it said it had only one bad block(543), which falls into the area of lflash, so it doesn't really matter, so it can't be the nand either .Help guys :/ E3: And, it worked before I installed IRShell 5.0, it began freezing after that. E4: Soo, installed 3.80 OFW, and doesn't freeze anymore at all . Gonna try installing 3.80 M33 now, report back afterwards.E5: Dang, before updating to 3.80 M33, I managed to freeze it in the OFW again <,<. And, now I installed 3.80 M33 again, and froze it again. <,< Last edited by Bluelord; 04-27-2009 at 05:59 AM.. Reason: Failed. |

So do I, gotta check the cables, if there's nothing wrong with the cables but the board, there's no worry, got a second PSP without a screen with analog broken and the L and R broken, so I'll just move em to the other PSP and it should work, right? And, the other PSP works way better than this one, 5.00 M33-6 installed correctly on it and worked fine, until I got this one with working analog and everything. But anyways, gonna check the cables, gonna report back in about 30 mins.

Did that thing nightcrawler suggested, the only bug it fixed was that now the psp shutdown immidiately, otherwise all the same bugs.
And, I checked hardware wise, no problems there at all. :S The only thing I'm wondering, because the background is always pixelated, even after everything I've done, could it be that the flash has corrupted itself beyond of being fixed by just flashing of the lflash or the changing of the NAND? |
