I had the same problem with mine but with the plugins.
So i formatted it from the pc and then from the psp and then it worked perfect.

It should be fine if you format it in system settings, format memory stick unless its a fake. I would assume it is a fake. Formatting flash0 or 1 has nothing to do with your memstick by the way though.

Go somewhere in the XMB where you can select the memory stick, press Triangle > Memory Stick Information

Check if it says "MagicGate Supported". If it doesn't, your MS is fake and your pretty much screwed.

If it does, just try what nickxab said and see if that helps.

well, if you doesnt want that ms to be wasted. use ir shell, there's a function in it that can enable non magic gate support.

That option is in the Configurator Menu. But it won't do any good since that stick is a fake and disabling MagicGate support is meant for PhotoFast Adapters.

Lesson here, don't buy large size sticks off eBay or the like.

For about $40-$50 you can get 2 8GB microSDHC cards from NewEgg and a PhotoFast CR-5400 Adapter from Amazon

I didnt know that non magic gate compatibility is for photofast only. I have photofast and its working like a charm but using ir shell only.
