Default Help adding video folder to memory stick

When I format my memory stick it creates a video folder inside the iso folder. When I put a video file (in any format) into that folder the psp can't open it. When I try to drag that folder out of the iso folder OR when I try to create a video folder I get an INCORRECT PATH error message. I have also tried to place video files into the 100MNV01 folder in the MP ROOT the psp still cannot open it. This is really frustrating since my memory sticks have always showed a video file that would let me watch these same video files without a problem. Where did my video folder go and how do I get it back? Is there a different way to format my memory stick or a way to set up my memory stick format? Please help? Please email me directly any help you can offer at drdavidshapiro at msn dot com if that is allowed. Thanks!

First of all welcome.
Huh the video inside the iso folders is for UMD videos(in iso format) lol.
Make a folder called VIDEO in the memory stick root and put mp4 files.

@nickxab, they aren't necessary to be mp4 files.

@phatdaddy, format the memory stick VIA PC, then VIA PSP. The PSP should by itself create the needed folders. Place videos that aren't in ISO format and compatible with the PSP in the VIDEO folder in the root of the memory stick. You are welcomed to the forums.

until recently always had a video folder that would play my vids in mp4 format. had to drag and drop mp4 and thm created by video 9 into video folder. now can't create a video folder. have tried everything. drag and drop same files into 100MNV01 folder in MP_ROOT and psp says unrecognized format for video.

What else ?
The psp supports mp4 videos with x24 video codec(avc) the mp4 videos with mpeg video codec(normal mp4) and the videos in ISO.

Did you create any video folder in the memory stick root ?

@nickxab, the PSP doesn't support any kind of MP4. Ipod movies can play on PSP and vice versa.

Wikipedia has a good comparison of container formats

In a nutshell - mp4 is made up of two (2) things - video and audio.
PSP can run mp4 files as long as the video is H.263 or H.264/MPEG-4 format and the audio is AAC.

Ipod movies can use this mp4 container format.

However, if you encode in H.264/MPEG-4 video with MP3 audio - which (I think) can be played on an Ipod - but loaded on a PSP, you will either get an error message or video playback without any audio.

Also - the PSP and Ipod can playback some 3GP and 3GPP files as long as they use MPEG-4 and AAC...
