My friend was playing my PSP and brought to my attention that the up on the D-pad was sticking. For awhile I had been noticing the left doing the same, now the up button does it aswell.
When I say stuck, it works, it just has to be depressed rather hard to work. Right and down can be tapped or pressed lightly (Normally I guess you could say.) but up and left must be almost mashed in. I'm figuring I may need to open it and clean out from under the pad but I'm foreign to the PSP's assembly. I've disassembled consoles and cleaned them before and I'm not too foreign to modding consoles but I don't want to mess anything up in the PSP. I can recall disassembling my first PS2 and it becoming an instant paperweight due to me snapping a vital little peice that I could not repair. With the PSP being smaller and of course much more delicate, I'm wondering how safe it is to open or remove the directional pad so that I might inspect if there is dirt or something else under it. I looked around and I couldn't find evidence of other people having this problem. I did find a few people complaining about buttons sticking, but I didn't really find anything that pertains to my situation or a solution. So any help is appreciated.
