Default messed up psp

so my friends psp is messed,he said he spilled water on it.
so now his psp's buttons dont work except the volume control buttons and brightness level.
they buttons don't work on the startup screen (which asks for the date)
so i used my xgen on it and the buttons worked fine i flashed his psp (5.50b2or b) then got to the date screen and got the same result.

i'm gonna try reflashing his psp with gen d then official
(if gen d doesn't work) to see if its fixes it.

notes he had 5.00m33 don't know if it was 6 or below
recovery starts when holding r but then just exits
he opened up his psp and saw nothing wrong i might look at it.

any ideas?

He should change the motherboard. My friend had the exact problem and changing the mobo worked.

it was fixed so im pretty sure he messed with someting he didn't need too.i'll be reflashing his psp soon.

I would've linked you to my DDC 8 guide. It is the ultimate PSP fixer (NAND and IDstorage full recovery), but I thought it'd be better if he buys a new mobo. Anyways, welcome to QJ.
