I recently bough myself an access point so I can use my PSP with the internet and my dad can use his laptop wirelessly (which we haven't gotten to yet, because the laptop company hasn't made it easy to install the drivers for the WLAN PCMCIA card). To make it harder for our neighbours to go on our connection, I added a WEP key. And it's not a very hard one... but back on track.
It made me think-what do YOU guys think about using your neighbours' wifi connection, if it's not protected by WEP/WPA? I often respond to people who say "it's their fault for not protecting it" by saying, "If someone forgets to lock the door to their house, is it still OK to steal from it?"
Because, really, using another person's bandwidth is stealing. Do you pay for your regular internet connection? I bet you do. Now, how would you like it if an internet hobo (so to speak) drove just in front of your house and used your internet? He'd be stealing your money.
And really, it's not that expensive to get Wifi. My AP only cost me $30 plus postage.
Now, I've rambled enough. What do YOU think?
