I could really use the help of somebody, who knows about the insides of the psp or has some experience with the Support-Service of Sony Germany.
I bought my PSP the day it came out in Europe and (after long wait) successfully downgraded to 1.5. The prob I have is the Square-Button of my PSP. It's still functioning, but it's not that responsive anymore. Hard to describe. It feels as if it's worn out (the elastic feather beneath it or whatever pushs it up) but only the left part of the button. The thing is, it's really hard to tell if the Button is actually pressed down or not while playing a game and it feels loose. I haven't had the time to play much since I got it cause of my new job (probably only as much as most of you played it within the first week after you got your psp) so it can't be worn out.
So, is it possible that something broke right under the button that holds it in place (some small plastic thing)? Or might have just something got out of place that can be pushed back? I don't wanna open up my psp if it's not absolutely neccessary, partly cause of the warranty, partly cause of dust that can get under the screen. Has anybody have had such a problem yet? If yes, where you able to fix it, probably even whithout opening your psp? Through the space around that button I can see some metal kind of thing at the left side, looking like a small needle.
BTW, the shop where I bought it told me today that they can't exchange it cause of Sony's strict guidelines, which demand to send it in for repair. Of course, I don't wanna get it back with the 2.5 FW on it.
Does anyone know if Sony is actually updating all the psp's they get for repair?
Thanx in advance for any help...
