A few unlucky souls such as myself have purchased faulty PSP units that have had to be sent back to Sony for a replacement under warranty.
Unfortunately, Sony reconditions their faulty units and flashes them with their latest firmware. I was unlucky enough to exchange my 2.01 and receive a 2.6 in return.
With regards to the new 2.6 Kernal exploit and the possibility of downgrading, I was wondering if there is any way of telling the ORIGINAL firmware version that was flashed to your PSP when it originally came from the factory?
I have searched the forums and google, and I can confirm that my motherboard is not a TA82 (You know, the one that Undiluted Platinum is not compatible with). However, that is as much information as I know.
I wonder if there is any way of telling from your PSP serial number or date code etc, which firmware your unit was originally produced and shipped with?
